Good question. It's been a few days since you asked, and...

The new projects seem to have some real backers, so that is nice to see.

The new projects seem to have some real backers, so that is nice to see. Not impressive. There are only a few projects, they have not received much funding, and there is no word on anything else in the pipeline. I don't detect a pulse. Can a principle from SWARM come on here and provide an update or an explanation?

When have follow this project that looks like this guys get very big moneys to run business but they have only waste time without doing more than collect few bitcoin for some dog game I don't really see why this coin have any value.

I guess the Bitcointalk forum isn't their main medium for communicating. It would be nice if Joel or Jef came on here to give us an update, though.
I just checked their Facebook and Twitter feeds, and it looks like they've been quite busy at conferences and getting to know people who might help. While that does not seem to translate yet into viable projects, it does look like this coin is still alive. From what I gather, the biggest hurdles right now are regulatory.
Does anyone else have any information?

Swarm is opening its second round of investment for projects on its crowdfunding platform, as well as revealing a new legal structure for distributed organizations. Along with what they believe to be new, sound legal footing is a new name for these newfangled blockchain powered organizations: Distributed Collaborative Organizations or DCOs. Swarm, for the uneducated, is a crowdfunding platform and bitcoin incubator that utilizes both Ethereum and Counterparty to enable companies to launch their own coins for crowdfunding and the holders of Swarm's own coin will receive a proportional amount of all coins launched on the Swarm platform. Swarm uses the money raised in the sale of its own coin for expenses and investing in promising projects.
This time around, they are partnering with Focus Investments, who has already invested in Gems, NXT, Counterparty, Factom and others. As was the case in the first class of companies, Swarm will be adding five companies to its platform. Swarm plans to invest between US $5,000 and US $50,000 per company. That investment would be in addition to anything else the crowd invests into the company by buying their coins themselves. Companies can submit their pitches to Swarm starting today until Friday, February 27. While the investment totals aren't high enough that companies won't have to seek out other outside investments, the amount is enough to be a powerful motivator for getting companies to use the platform and therefore, getting more useful companies on the platform for people to invest in.http://cointelegraph.com/news/113541/swarms-accepting-submissions-for-second-class-investments-and-announces-legal-framework-for-dcosYou can add your project if you like, using this link: http://swarm.force.com/Only a couple of days left!

A couple questions about this: What's the most any individual startup has gotten out of a SWARM campaign? What does SWARM get in return in this round - and what happens if a startup doesn't get much more than the minimum $5,000 amount from their swarm campaign?

Has anyone got a copy of the original PDF the swarm team presented this idea with? it's called "swarm-booklet". The original dropbox links expired or been removed.

Thanks for the questions. There where a small number of projects launched on the SWARM-platform. The biggest one is about $25k for Bitcoin Comic, not really a startup though... The project was a pilot and a great succes. Take a look here.... http://www.bitcoincomic.org/Now the legal questions are answered, bigger projects can be launched on the platform. The full details will be made clear way before launch of the upcoming projects.

There don't seem to be any links anywhere specifying the terms.
