Not quite sure how this relates.

Valuation...  Trust in regard to the locked coins...  don't make me spell it out...  it's about to get hectic enough as it is.

Everything here is a bit complicated. I'm the first to admit that I don't have all the answers, but I will try to answer any questions that people have as they come up.

Well they have come up!!

Well I only have 3000 Swarm, I did not know about the "Closed Presale" at such a BETTER rate. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Does anyone know how many people and how many coins were involved in this so called "Closed Presale"?

Swarm? My bloody brain-cells are swarming at the moment Angry Angry

500BTC worth of Swarm were sold at the presale.. around 8000-7500 swarm per BTC

500BTC ? Did you say 500BTC well that will teach me for not doing my homework!! No mention on the website then. Information source? Seems not.

Don't get mad.. Only a few knew about this.. It was a pretty closed pre-sale.

I myself found that out by mistake only after buying my first swarm from the IPO..

Looks like the problems with counterpartyd earlier today are affecting our server. There may be some delays in processing incoming transactions.

Here are the results of the vote:

Spreadsheet version here.

Me, probably like many others, had no idea of the short vote until today. (Look at the 22% turnout and yet the vote affected all Swarm holders.)
Now I am aware that votes can take place, but on such short notice, it is not exactly fair. (Reminds me a bit of how congress passed certain legislation by having votes when certain opponents were unavailable.) I'm not saying their were bad intentions, but we need more of a heads up in the future.

It would be nice to see some discussion (a thread) on the benefits of either position to holders of Swarm BEFORE the vote.
I don't exactly understand the vote, but from a quick glance, it seems that a YES vote (which one) would protect those already in Swarm from future dilution?
The negative might be a shortage of funds for developers. Again, this should be discussed and not just put out there in the way it was.

There are some people working on the breaking changes introduced to counterpartyd yesterday. If it's not resolved by end of day today I guess we will be back to processing things manually.

Unfortunately with these technologies it's not super easy to notify people. We sent out an email newsletter, blog post, announcement on Bitcointalk, token issuance to all SWARMPRE holders that had a link to the blogpost, and active discussion in our Skype group (which now has 100+ people).

For any future votes we will announce them well in advance through the same channels.  In this case due to the nature of our fundraiser we had a very short turn around time. That said, I'm not super disappointed at the turnout since it A) involved the most engaged participants  B) is the first time anything like this has been done.

It would be nice to see some discussion (a thread) on the benefits of either position to holders of Swarm BEFORE the vote.

You mean a separate thread on bitcointalk or something else? There was a lot of discussion here and I believe I at least attempted to answer every question that was asked.

Thanks for the reply. I understand this is still a work in progress. And perhaps through some feedback we can find what works as well as get used to the system you decide on. I have my email now set up so I don't miss another vote. I do check into my wallet on occasion, and I noticed the vote tokens but didn't think much of them as no one also had much info about the GoldTicket tokens for a while and I thought it was more of the same. Have you considered a messaging system in the wallet or is that a bit heavy? (Even if it is something as simple as an alert stating to check your blog.)

In the interest of not having one huge long thread having everything, yes, I thought a separate thread to discuss votes and a separate thread for each of any other issues. And on another level that is just something more to miss. Just throwing the idea out there.

Yes, although i think it will be a bit of time before we implement it. Most likely is that goldticket holders start getting more frequent emails with relevant notifications.

Good idea. I'll add it to our critical feedback doc, which you are also welcome to contribute to for other ideas.

Update, the main problem with counterpartyd that caused our servers to go down yesterday has been resolved. There is another hopefully smaller problem that still exists, but any queued payments should start to come out on the next couple blocks.

I am unable to purchase swarmpre on counterwallet.co.

The user interface is buggy so not displaying correct prices, and I have been unable to get anything to go through.

It is frustrating because this is going to be the third time I have to cancel and try again,  I have no idea what the going price is because of UI errors, and they are not going to reimburse me for 'order cancellation fees'.

I am about to forget about this whole thing as I cannot see a service that 'nickles and dimes' traders for placing and canceling order working out at all, although I understand right now it is necessary to reduce centralization.  What frustrates me is that it is not my fault, the UI is buggy and showing wrong prices, and I still get charged for cancelling and reordering.

We strongly recommend people acquire swarm coins through the instructions on our website. Counterwallet is under active development and does not work equally well for all use cases.

Hi. Like what you guys are doing here and let me say that the haters showing up and dissecting this to the nth degree and being negative is not surprising. We are after all on the bitcoin forum. I would bet most of them have never started a business. It's understandable, for the time being for things to not be completely seamless because there a lot of moving parts. I think the key is continuing to respond promptly to inquiries like you have been doing on this thread. Because that does make a difference.

My Q:

I bought some swarm yesterday per the instructions on swarm website. I don't see any swarm yet on my counterwallet. Furthermore, I don't quite know where to look for it in the event I have received it.  Does a new box get created next to the BTC and XCP boxes? Please help.

Some thoughts: I want to buy more but this is a test run. I think the idea is brilliant and hope you can execute. Legal issues abound but if you can circumnavigate those with a strong legal team and strategy that will be great. May not be a good idea to explicitly state in writing on the website that you plan to be wily and so on because that probably draws the ire of regulators. Maybe better to be subtle about such things.

thanks
