Wow I just got these modified kernels for sph_sgminer with 14.6 RC2 I am getting
7.7Mhs combined on X11 with a 280x+7950 which did only 6.1Mhs combined using
14.4 and default kernels in sph_sgminer.
7950 now 3.6 MHs, 280x now 4.1 Mhs.
Rename your x11mod.cl just in case you want to revert to old version.  Ditto for x13mod.cl.
Delete .bin files and restart sgminer ...

http://puu.sh/9Bkmt/c7f933e297.7z

I've had amazing results with this kernel with every single card except any of my 7950s. I'm getting 2.7mhs per 7950, but seeing many get over 3 with this kernel. I've brought my farm from 450mh/s to about 525mh/s with the kernel, but that would be about 600mh/s if I could get the 80+ 7950's mining at 3.5+!

The 7970's by far were the most noticeable in terms of an increase on this bin for me. The Sapphire 7970's do 4.1 easily.

As a heads up to anyone that might have the same issue. I went back to look at this again (I didn't heavily troubleshoot while upgrading nearly 50 rigs) and found that the 7950 rigs and a couple 7970 rigs that didn't see a bump in performance actually didn't complete the full ATI update to 14.6. I had to completely remove the prior version, and install from scratch (14.6 RC was released yesterday too) and it fixed the lack of a bump on those machines. I should be at 600mh/s by this evening, when I finish them all.
Upgrade done, pushing about 590 mh/s on waffle now with the same gear. Not fun upgrading Catalyst on 49 rigs, but well worth the results!
From what I've seen on all of my rigs, the most recent x11mod and 14.6 beta (RC2), I max out on my 7950's right around 3.6, and the 280x's around 4.2, so you're in the zone. I don't have any powercolors, so I'm not sure if it differs much. I use different settings then you have, mostly xintensity and my thread-concurrency was bumped down from the typical 24000 to 8192, but the results are the same.

Hey,  do either of you know how to get the 14.6 RC drivers to run six 7950 gpus on win 8.1?  I've been waiting for something to pop up in a thread dealing with 6+ gpus & windows on another board but haven't seen anything yet.
Right now I'm running the 14.4 drivers with modded .inf files and lasybears x11mod here on wafflepool. Seeing about 2.98 mh per 7950 card with 8 amp total draw,  which is pretty nice.  I Just "upgraded" from win8 to 8.1 in hopes of moving to the 14.6 drivers once I can figure out how to run six cards with them,  but just loaded the modded 14.4 drivers in the meantime.  I know that I'll have to change the x11 kernel to work with the 14.6 drivers, and I saw some people talking about loading some portions of the 14.6 drivers into the older driver folders to get them to work easily,  but not too sure about that.

Please post configs that are working for you ... card type, MHs, power draw if known Smiley also what version of sgminer you are using.

Warning do not update to 14.9 WHQL, u will murder your hashrates all algos

Hopefully if enough people complain about the 5+ card issue they will fix it before release.
6+cards seem to be working ok with 14.7RC3 now out of the box Smiley

If you want to try another TC or WS on X13 let me know and I'll compile  and try it and post bin.
To try with non Tahiti card try editing file name to Hawaii or whatever ...

I'm also interested in collecting X13 vs scrypt hashrate info.

Not working with my 6 GPU rigs unfortunately (only 4 GPUs are usable). The drivers will need to be modded if you have 5+ GPUs.

However, this *should* work, I haven't had a chance to try it yet:

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=11761.msg185847#msg185847

Quote
I attempted to follow along from the original post and made this for the "14.6-Beta-V1.0-Windows-May23" download that you can grab currently from AMD. I only made 2 .infs that replaced the two in \Packages\Drivers\Display\WB6A_INF.

I initially tried it without cleaning out the files and it failed. I would recommend following the OP's post on clearing out the files here: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=11001.msg79830#msg79830

I installed the same way as suggested in that post. I installed with fewer than 3 cards installed at the time. Afterwards I hooked the rest of them up and finally had 6 cards (r9 270s on Windows 8.1) working. I needed the 14.6 drivers as this miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=658411 is optimized for them and now my r9 270s are hashing ~2.5-2.7 Mh/s on x11mod kernel.

Anyhow, try these at your own risk: http://www.filedropper.com/146modtest       * fixed link

You are right that no link should be trusted, however I think the 2 warnings on Virustotal are caused by the site the file is hosted on (http://puu.sh) as just scanning http://puu.sh brings up the same warnings:

Not seeing much of an improvement in hashrates with the optimized .cl file.  Possibly more stable hash, but also likely placebo.

These rigs are all on Win8.1 using 13.12 (with the 14.6 openCL files inserted into folder) and the sgminer_14.6 (fixed) build from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=658411.0

Post up with results if you try that.  Are you using the 14.6 RC2 or the original 14.6 beta drivers? Wondering if the above suggestion would only work with the first beta drivers only,  or if it would not matter if the RC2 drivers were loaded.

I found this update and tried to install the Catalyst 14.6 with the modified x11mod kernel. So far the hashrates increased a lot for my r9 280x cards.

XFX R9 280X now: 3.8 MH/s before: 3.1 MH/s
ASUS R9 280X DC2T now: 4.1 MH/s before 3.1 MH/s
XFX R9 270X now: 2.5 MH/s before 2MH/s

I don't have data for power consumtion right now.

All three cards in one rig is about 10.5 MH/s and seems to run stable at the moment. GPU Temps about 67° now; before the update about 65°

These rigs are all on Win8.1 using 13.12 (with the 14.6 openCL files inserted into folder) and the sgminer_14.6 (fixed) build from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=658411.0

290s: ~4.6mhs @ 946/1260
You are missing the point of the OP ... simple upgrade to 14.6 RC2 and x11mod.cl from the link now works with sgminer 4.1.0 without have to do a lot of mucking about in patching up 14.6 beta original or creating yet another fork of sgminer to get it to work.
I don't want to be locked into a .bin provided that only works with whatever TC and WS it was compiled with.
I need to be able to compile my own working .bin from .cl to work on further tuning of config Smiley

Cheers Smiley
