Hey new investor here, still trying to learn more about how mining works but I'm curious, is this a threat and if so how do we plan on handling it?

Q: Why has the hashrate dropped from 7000MH/s to 3000 MH/s ?
(as found http://eligius.st/~artefact2/7/1DfGiAHbW1jV8i4ZRcFpR6CGRkWnmdYdFb)

Now mining at GPUmax with Clipse at its backup. Then as backups we have Clipse, P2Pool, and Eligius.

The hashrate is now distributed among multiple pools to increase dividends.

I plan to use these to our advantage. So no, they most definitely will not be a threat.

How much would the asics increase your hash rate?

Subscribalicious.  I own 1 whole share.

Haha, I remember purchasing my first share of FPGA.contract on GLBSE 1.0...

That was really exciting for me. I do think GLBSE 1.0 was cooler, but 2.x is great because of its ability to allow not so tech savvy investors to join ultimately increasing liquidity.

Anyway, thanks for investing!

The coolest part for me, is that I bought that one initial share using dividends from other securities I had already purchased.  I'll keep increasing my position as the Dividend Gods giveth.

How much hashing power do you currently have? Trying to figure out what is the best mining bond investment.
As I understand it correctly if you mine on GPUMax this bond pays out more (or equal) compared to a 100% PP bond?

Does it make sense to change mining pools ? I think they all level out, no ?

I cannot tell you, because companies making ASICs have not told me.

We have 7.2gh/s now, and will have more than double this after the x4 boards arrive.
Yes, between GPUmax and Clipse we are getting 110% +/- 5%

That's exactly what I do Smiley

Will the amount of shares be the same when the new boards arrive?
I expect it will be the same. If so I'm in  Smiley

1400 shares were issued recently, making a total of 6400 shares. No more will be issued until we expand more.

What was the time frame on the quads?  Sorry if this was said somewhere before.

I hope to get in on the June order. They say they try will add us to it. Else it might not be until September. In the wave of motions I will be sending out soon there will be alternate plans to spend the funds if they do not include us in that order. Are there any suggestions for this?

You could pay it out as a dividend, or buy back shares.

You could buy more of the FPGAs you are currently using.

So I'm curious, what are our plans for when the reward rate halves at the end of the year? Do we still expect this mining farm to be profitable? Are there any good discussions about what to expect in respect to our farm?

We will surely still be profitable! Like all miners and mining companies, our revenue will halve (which I think will cause instability with GPU bonds), but aside from that, Cognitive will remain the same.

I think he is talking more about income v. expense rather than what will happen relative to other companies.

Our income will halve, our costs will remain constant. However, because of our recent expansions, dividends in one year will be the same as they are now, assuming a constant difficulty.

That is a rather optimistic assumption going against the trend of BTC so far..
