The purpose is to provide a network that encapsulates two cryptographic currencies sharing a safe platform that is trusted and are trusted. Silk will be developed further, with Stormnodes, Smart Contracts and more. Weaver is a centralised site that utilises decentralised services. Transactions and messaging are decentralised and handled by either the Bitcoin, DarkSilk or Silk networks. If the fees are for transactions from a DarkSilk wallet to another DarkSilk wallet (same for BTC and SLK) the fees are that of the networks which goes to the nodes, plus a withdrawal fee which goes towards the funding of Weaver.
Are stormnodes necessary? DRKSLK will have them...

Smart Contracts sounds cool because its the hype of the moment but why not load all the tech on DRKSLK and do away with SLK? Now you are creating 2 coins which essentially could be loaded into one. This would make DRKSLK more attractive for investors. Now they will have to split their money, which with all the coins out there, has already been diluted several times over. Why choose SLK over Ethereum or Factom?

Our aim is to decentralise the entire Weaver platform into both DarkSilk and Silk directly and onto the blockchain. We do not like centralisation in any form as much as the next user.
That is awesome. This was the only concern I had with the weaver!

I would say that SLK is an easy gateway for users to start using and being a part of the Silk Network and DRKSLK is for the advanced user and as you put it, "an in-depth service layer", as such.

SLK sounds like it is kept above average to appease the public, while DRKSLK is where its at.
It is my believe that concessions get you killed, the public is a horrible mistress...

Smart Contracts sounds cool because its the hype of the moment, but why not load all the tech on DRKSLK and do away with SLK?

SLK is the backbone of the Silk Network acting as a monolithic cryptographic currency. Technological advancement for SLK is not necessary, unlike DRKSLK, however, smart contracts and a marketplace for SLK in the future are an option that could be of use to users.

Why choose SLK over Ethereum or Factom?

I wouldn't choose SLK over Ethereum or Factom but would in fact decide upon using DRKSLK as an alternative to those.

Ignore the styling as the old Silkcoin blockchain isn't going to be of use for much longer.

But for those who require an explorer prior to the swap - http://silkexplorer.silknetwork.org/

My question is what will be worth keeping? Silk or DRKSILK?

It seems the price of silk will directly affect the price od DRKSLK and vice versa.

I'm sort of wondering the same, and I'm still unable to understand what is the reason to keep 2 coins, why not only 1? Are they going to be used for different thing? Even if that's the same, why not only 1 coin?

It takes two to tango...

The important thing to understand is that, if DrkSlk implements all the new tech and Slk has none even then there will be creative ways to use/implement Slk. My advice if you want to support the Silk Network, hold a basket for both coins and watch what happens. I will not trade in my Slk for DrkSlk but only acquire (more)DrkSlk if the oppertunity is there.

Now this might sound like papering over the cracks but im confident in this position. Good things are coming for Silk as well  Cool.

But you get my point, if there is no real technical or conceptual justification, then why? Specially I wonder why would anyone want to keep/buy Silk if the nodes and most of the new stuff is going to happen around DrkSlk.

I truly sympathize with your argument. Sometimes conceptual justifications cannot be communicated in advance and we have to accept that mitigation is not really possible. Have faith, Slk's symbol is the phoenix after all  Wink.

Simple answer, there is.

However, we can't let the cat out of the bag, if we do, then you will see copies and failed attempts at what we are doing.

If the splash screen is a small sample of what this coin is going to be then holy shit! Truly awesome splashscreen! The Phoenix Silk SC looks wonderful.
Excellent job.

Suggestion: Update the OP with collected information from the last 20 posts explaining the conceptual idea.

Indeed, the splashscreen itself will create a hype around these coins.

Should I buy Silk now and convert the coins or Should I wait and by Slk from the market?  No sidekicks out there that can give me some intel about future market prices  Wink

Maybe I should code a Tipping bot, instead of these well-known DDos bots. I would tip your Wallets until these were overloaded.

More than the splash screen should do the code, am I right? The glittering is important but if this coin wants to have a good start everything must be good and good-looking fresh from the start.

Them splashes are looking hella sexy, nice job. Do you have a rough estimate for when the Silkcoin -> SILK swap will be taking place?
