its not deterministic like that. Stake varies considerably everyday and even the whole year you don't know what you end up with. Even if on average it is 5% for the whole of the money supply.
But yeah, all you need to do is send nav to wallet and leave it on. You need to have it on all the time to maximize profit
by this do you mean to just have the wallet open on your desktop? or are there any other settings to change in the new wallet? If it is protected by passphrase, You need to unlock it to the staking mode! Watch out to only unlock for staking and not for sending, for your own security. How do i unlock it to the staking model? I don't seen anything in Preferences to allow this.

Is staking working correctly? I just got a stake of 42, and before that a stake of 12 within less than 2 hours. Both were the highest I have ever seen by far
Another thing I just noticed. The stake info in the dashboard counts orphan blocks as valid in it's total stake figure

Nav Coin is the first cryptocurrency to be fully anonymous. There are a lot of partially anonymous coins, Nav Coin is different because its encryption software completely disconnects and randomises the transaction data, removing it even from an IP address. The anonymous system is built using bitcoins famous block chain technology and uses a subchain to process anonymous transactions. Has this feature been achieved ?
Also what are the coin specifications ? and premine and is the premine amount public ? Please send the link to block explorer also as can not find that
Please answer this

I don't like to bring this up again so soon, but 4 stakes in a row I got double digit coins generated going as high as 60 NAV on a single stake. This is happening from the moment I switched to new wallet. I checked the block explorer, they are legit and also inspected a few dozen more recent blocks. All those had normal stake numbers I have no problem making 20x more that I would expect to, but I am concerned there is something wrong. This is not an April fool's joke or anything like that btw

This is not an April fool's joke or anything like that btw You can calculate the reward amount you should get following the protocol like this: (0.5*10000000*(((Transaction Value * (Transaction time - Previous transaction time) / 1000000)*1000000)/100000000)*(24*60*60))/365 If you think the amount does not match, I'd invite you to join our Slack so we can check in detail what's going on. Nothing changed between 3.x and 4.0, so I'd say you were lucky and had some old unspent outputs.

You can use Cryptoid as Block Explorer: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/There's no premine in NavCoin. We will try to publish some article about our fundamentals next week to try to clear all this doubts. Thanks for your support!

You can calculate the reward amount you should get following the protocol like this:
(0.5*10000000*(((Transaction Value * (Transaction time - Previous transaction time) / 1000000)*1000000)/100000000)*(24*60*60))/365

I will watch the behaviour for another day or two and then see if it worth reporting further. I also noticed, since you mentioned transaction output that indeed this is the reason. Whereas my previous stakes before were all with one or two chunks of coins of 500 - 1000 total, those new stake transactions use 99 inputs with total amounts over 11000 coins. So maybe when I run out of mature coins I won't stake again for very long. Not sure its a good thing for the network. It must be the case that something changed with the new wallet, even if it only affected me. The odds of it being random are mind boggling. And to answer @colvano, I stake 24/7 with only a few minutes downtime per week for maintenance. It's not like I had all those coins in an offline wallet all this time.

You wouldn't stop staking, but would get less reward (the proportional part). I've sent you a private message to check this in detail. Cheers, alex
