note aguycalled posted on slack aguycalled [4:01 AM] i've been doing some testing with the navpi after some users reported the performance was not as good as expected (edited)
[4:02] i've managed to reduce memory usage adding the following lines to navcoin.conf
[4:02] # Set database cache size in megabytes; machines sync faster with a larger cache. Recommend setting as high as possible based upon machine's available RAM. dbcache=100 # Keep at most <n> unconnectable transactions in memory. maxorphantx=10 # Keep the transaction memory pool below <n> megabytess. maxmempool=50 # Maintain at most N connections to peers. maxconnections=40 # Tries to keep outbound traffic under the given target (in MiB per 24h), 0 = no limit. maxuploadtarget=5000 these should also help on qt wallet also

Raspberry Pi 3, Nav Coin Stakebox TutorialHello all!I have created a series of 3 videos so far explaining how to setup a Nav Coin stakebox. I have done this on Windows 10 so there might be minor differences on different operation systems. There are a few things you need to get started. - Raspberry Pi 3 - Case for Raspberry Pi 3 - Micro-USB charger - Micro SD card, min. 8gb This will cost around 60$, depending on your location. Why do you need the Nav Coin stakebox? The Nav Coin stakebox is a very easy and cheap way to earn stake rewards. You do not need a computer running 24/7. The Raspberry Pi is very energy efficient. It is fun to have the stakebox running. You can easily connect to it on any device in your network simply through your browser to your Stakebox's IP. This way you can keep an eye on your staking process. In the first video, Youtube, is explained how to: - Install the image onto the Raspberry Pi - Setup your Nav Coin Stakebox - Enable WiFi - Login to the WebUI (User Interface) of the Stakebox In the second video, Youtube, is explained how to: - Import a wallet.dat file into your stakebox. This way you are able to simply use a backup of your existing wallet.dat. - The same way a backup can be made from the Stakebox wallet.dat using Filezilla and simply copy the wallet.dat onto your computer. In the third video, Youtube, is explained how to: - Setup your stakebox security - Change Raspberry Pi Password - Change WebUI password - (Change) Encryption - Unlock wallet for sending/staking - Lock wallet You can follow us on twitter: Navtechservers.com If you would like the video's and want to support me, feel free to donate to: Ni2EDpyqwJ4mk9jrzy4tteX1fswVd7Foy6

The Wheels Keep on Turning at Nav Coin HQIt really has been a massive week for Nav Coin this week. We have seen the release of our 4.0.0 Core wallet, NAVTech 1.1 and the NavPi from the development team. Alongside our great new website, Q1 press release and the social media competition from by our awesome new marketing team. We have moved a lot of projects from in progress to completed and have also started on our next batch of projects. You can have a look at what we’ve ticked off here: http://navcoin.org/project-roadmap/#completedAlex has begun work on our full suite of Mobile & Web Wallets based on the Copay source code. Copay is an amazing javascript based wallet which will provide us with a great platform to build our Nav Coin wallets on top of. Victor is going to look at improving our NavPi, streamlining the interface and improving performance. This means a full redevelopment using Angular2 served by NodeJS. Guy is comparing supplier options for sourcing and supplying NAV branded NavPi units on the Nav Coin Store. These will ship with the image pre-loaded onto the memory card so all you will need to do is plug them in and send the coins. Craig is busy preparing to present his talk “Exploring Private Cryptocurrencies” for the Bloktex conference this weekend in Kuala Lumpur. Once he gets back from KL, he will begin to work rebuilding the Subchain aligning it with the new core code base. This will mean restarting that blockchain and is a vital step toward integrating the Subchain into the Nav Coin wallet. If you’re near KL, you should definitely head along to the conference: http://bloktex.comKieren has been largely focused on helping with the Q1 release schedule since being onboarded. He has been a huge help with our new website, the Q1 press releases and also our very successful social media campaign. With that pressure off, the marketing team can now refocus on the wider branding message and marketing strategy. The first step is to formalise a marketing roadmap and present our marketing plan. You can see all the things we’ve started this week here: http://navcoin.org/project-roadmap/#in-progressWe may have been a bit quieter than usual this week online due to the team having a couple days of hard earned rest after our successful (but very demanding) Q1 launch. As you can see, we still have made a lot of progress and as always, the wheels keep turning at Nav Coin HQ. We have a lot of great projects in the works and lots of amazing things lined up for the rest of the year. So stick around and come on this journey with us. Talk soon, Nav Coin Team Very nice feedback! http://bloktex.com/speaker/craig-macgregor/ Have fun and a good flight! Imo interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q6MGB7dkCM

Happens to me too. Repair wallet fixes it, but it will happen again in time. Hopefully those problems will be looked at and fixed for the next release, whenever that is.

Kudos to all who make this possible, you're all doing navvy work pleasant to eye and heart! Love the updates, videos, pi stakebox and pi vpn , this is becoming very interesting allover!
Poloniex put NAV in maintenance as far as deposits and withdrawals go, trading on, it happened before in BTM and others that there was some pumping , as no coins can be added or taken out while they are updating.
Slightly above 7k sats is a steal for NAV, I just could not resist to buy a bit more, increasing my stash on dips
Thanks to all who sold it down to these levels, you're great , too!
