Sorry for being boring - when is VIA launched for mining? There is not a single countdown timer anywhere, pools don't have this info either.

Several people have suggested making a separate ANN thread when the wallets launch, and to make it self-moderated to we can reduce the spam and noise. What are your thoughts. I know there are pros and cons. As far as scam accusations, I would hope those are put to bed in this thread once the coin launches and coins are distributed. Anyway, I look forward to hearing your opinions.

It's your community, so you decide what you would like.

I have nothing against a moderated thread.
But there must be a clear policy, delete, say, only rude messages or accusatory posts without any arguments.
Especially, as you said, you value your reputation and I think you will not abuse the moderator rights.

Yes, very good point.
What I would like to really do is reduce noise. I don't mind scam accusations and all that stupidity, but not the same posts repeated over and over and over  Roll Eyes
For me. Anything goes so long as it is on topic and has some argument. I also dont have time to be baby sitting the thread, but in the interests of peace...
Of course, lots of people say moderated posts are the sign of a scam so cant win there Roll Eyes

moderated thread with policies is the only way to go about this.

i recommend a solid FAQ on the OP for pbvious reasons.

if we dont do a moderated thread, this is going to get FUDed to hell by pissed off people who didnt get in on the IPO and wanting to get in at cheaper prices. id rather not go theough hubdreds of pages of nonsensical FUD (as were getting now) and keeping up this non moderated thread is going to be worse for Viacoin in the long run IMO.

its not okay to keep things the way there are. only the best coins receive the most fud. (at least those not obviously scams)

please btcdrak, we nees a moderated ANN.

I think not a lot. I watch now one moderated thread with IPO (about 100 pages, IPO was very popular), and only about 3 people asked about this from topic start.
Another example is the Blackcoin non-moderated thread (over 1000 pages), there all quarreled and created two self-moderated thread.

Total scam all of the receive address are different.So it is easy to cheat by using the other transaction not the real ipo.If possible can dev transfer all the btc to the same address?If can not,just a scam,so poor for you guys,who buy this shit.No innovation.Good luck for you guys. Grin

Actually not. If you spent some time researching you'll see there is a 1:1 correlation between the viacoin pay out address and the BTC deposit address to bid with. There is no way to cheat that. Once payout happens you'll see the transactions on the blockchain and be able to verify the lists.

I also waited until near the end of the presale to transfer any coins out of the multisig addresses and many are still funded because I used 0 fee sweep (and buy are they slow to confirm).

Which reminds me, as per the terms on the presale site, here are the public keys used

P1= 0428b99e0e752dd39c6ed9bb728e14fbbfe2c103975c09572232e7d622fe80f689d55c33855c118 ab52549c7d49734a2b22fe74e649192e0fe67d0acc19b756485
P2= 044fa8504dddb8dd6f04702883ef479cb6750d23e27c631040b64cfd80b09a30225dd841b9bb624 12ac3eeb5e9a2f8426e51a52105500273f6f1f9381e6e8e5023
P3 is the public key of the private key generated from sha256d(viacoin_payout_address)

So you can now verify all the BTC deposit addresses were created with these key (which are used to spend the multi-sig) addresses.

The full list is up for inspection at http://presale.viacoin.org/list.html

Please transfer all the btc to the same address so I can trust you if not ,just a scam.btc:via 1:1 is nothing to prove not a scam.Do you think all the people here stupid?

Are you trolling? there is one thing taking time to answer people's question, but some of you are taking the biscuit. It's on the blockchain, take a look for crying out loud. I will not be answering any more questions that you can actually answer yourself if you took 2 mins to actually LOOK at the information provided.

Will follow this thread.Try to prove this is a scam. Cheesy

Avoid a moderated thread imo, let it be. Fudders will still be around and fulfill their troll role.
