Those rudimentary calculations of mine are all nice and fun, but I do want to understand the offical calculation. !! The initial reward is diff * 8 and decreasing with every block found. Actually it isn't linear so the reward won't halve every year but be 8 * diff / number_of_years_passed.

Hello! I also added my groestl rig to MRR. Speed: AVG=37+ Mh/s but pay for just 35MH/s!. Price: 0.014 BTC/day. http://rentrig.co/rigs/6381Bonus time to every renter who rents more than 1 day! On every 24 hours rent, you get 1 hour extra time! On every 48 hours rent, you get 2 hour extra time! On every 72 hours rent, you get 5 hour extra time! On every 168 hours rent, you get 8 hour extra time! Take advantage of it 2 miners already did!

Thanks for the help. I think I'm getting closer to a working understanding. Looking forward to it. Thank you.

Actually, we had some pretty interesting ideas regarding the blockchain but we mostly agreed that we need to improve the wallet in areas that really affect the user experience. I don't find the sheer size problematic, but would like that we concentrate on shortening the initial load time. And usually the simplest ideas are the best. So I would like to see some sort of optimized blockchain P2P preloader that would make the initial download in under 2 minutes. What do you think?
After some research I'm finding that holographic hard drives are just around the corner so block chain size might not matter so much at least in the short term. So there's time. Basically the idea I was thinking about was making the block chain holographic but if hard drives are holographic then it would be way easier ; )

Personally I think it would be easier to get it added to https://moolah.io/login being that its a newer exchange and hasn't been flooded with as many alts as these other exchanges yet. Moolah.io was the exchange that helped dogecoin sponsor their nascar.

Well, I am positive it would be easier, but in line with our main idea of simplicity, Cryptsy and their US$ market would really make things easier for the user and also for our humanitarian operations, which need as much transparency as possible. I've got an open ticket with Cryptsy that's been open for 7 hours . . . which is a good sign since it wasn't automatically closed.
Everyone's got to open a ticket. To use a much overused and abused phrase of late: Spread The Word!

Difficulty based block reward according to: ceil(8 * dDiff / (525600 + nHeight) * 525600) Block reward scaling factor on 12 month periods
I can only get close with this: 8 * dDiff / ((525600 + nHeight) / 525600) Which looks wrong since that would be an increasing subsidy into a complete double by day 356 (and forget what multiplication instead of division gets you!). 8 * dDiff / ((525600 - nHeight) / 525600) would be a decreasing subsidy and gets me closer, for now, but that would take us to a complete 0 subsidy by day 365. I'm sure I'm missing something here and really showing my ignorance.
