If I would have like 2k coins, how much BTCD could I stake per week or month? And do I need to split into smaller amounts to get the maximum stake rewards? The current PoS reward is still 5% right? Those additional Supernet revenues are not active yet ?

Questions questions ..  Grin
yes 5% per year so 2000 * 0.05 / 52 -> about 2 per week
if your connection is good, more stakes wont matter. the issue is on a bad connection you could easily lose out to another node the time you were all set to stake.

SuperNET revenues are not active yet, but InstantDEX should be the first one to start making revenues

James

Ok thanks for your reply. 2 BTCD per week is not alot lol. Ill wait for those additional revenues. Any eta for those yet?

Well 2k coins isnt a lot either, buy more coins for more staking reward  Cheesy

It once was worth alot  Cry

You only lose money if you sell for less than you bought, simple as that. Which direction is more likely for price after InstantDEX is launched? JUst hodl!

This isn't really true. It's not that simple. Let's say you buy stock in Yahoo.com at $100 per share. Now, Yahoo goes out of business, but you still have the stock. Have you lost money?

An "unrealized" loss, is still a loss.

Tor has a popular following among bitcoiners, many of whom are libertarians who are extremely concerned about the extent of government and corporate
crackers (sprnt)BOT 10:24 AM
Ahem... We'll be working on some bugs with the NXT payout integration. Expect a few hiccups on the front end. Mining unaffected!
shossain (sprnt)BOT 2:03 PM
hey @apex944 sorry to hear your that it doesn't update. I'm sorry that the page will not update itself. You need to refresh / f5 in your browser. I get a lot of attacks in my vps and sometime it restarts. Sometimes the database of the block explorer database corrupts not the btcd daemon. I need to start all the processes manually everytime after the reboot. The block explorer syncs all info from RPC and it is a slow process as I couldn't get "sync from blocks.dat file" function working.
shossain (sprnt)BOT 2:10 PM
About the 5 minutes update - I asked a dev to help me automate a PHP script to run every 5 minutes and it is always running. I'll try to do auto refresh every 5 minutes on the rich list.
js.galt (sprnt)BOT 3:07 PM So. Do I get 5% of btcd as staking reward regarless of how often I stake, aslong as I stake for say, a week, or a month? ( i say this because of the way 'weight' seems to work)Or, do I get 5% per year, where the only time that counts towards that year is the time I'm actively staking?
@jam}}
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:10 PM
i think he said they'd change it so ppl that stake 24/7 get more
nippybrit (sprnt)BOT 3:11 PM
vericoin seem to be the first ones implimenting such a system
so maybe once that'sup and tested BTCD and others will start looking into it?
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:30 PM
I already implemented pos v2 in the new btcd
lootz (sprnt)BOT 3:31 PM
:see_no_evil:
nippybrit (sprnt)BOT 3:32 PM
is it like the thing vericoin are describing as PoST?
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:32 PM
will the new wallet have a new GUI aswel?
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:32 PM
I haven't researched vrc's pos
rat4 reviewed btcd pos and helped me
@jahl it's possible :simple_smile:
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:33 PM
i've seen some ppl 'complain' about the old design, might aswel renew the look
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:34 PM
I don't do gui
nippybrit (sprnt)BOT 3:35 PM
like with james
ux and backend development are different skillsets
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:35 PM
oh yeah
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:39 PM
isn't there a tool to create gui's for wallets
forgot its name
nippybrit (sprnt)BOT 3:40 PM
ms paint to design a web page in segements, ms word to create a table to hold those elements and save as HTML
and a HTML > exe browser wrapper thingy
perfect!
lootz (sprnt)BOT 3:40 PM
lol
fsb4000 (sprnt)BOT 3:40 PM
jahl, qt designer
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:40 PM

49+ BTCD out to miners! Keep up the great support!

wah, buy support building up
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:16 PM
quick, spread some fud on btctalk jahl
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:17 PM
you still buying?
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:17 PM
yes
where I can
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:17 PM
i kinda got used to the cheap prices, current one looks expensive
lowest was 280k i think
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:18 PM
I sold some at .015, and bought back at .004, so I have way more than I originally did, even though all my attempts at daytrading have been bad
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:18 PM
i only saw 500k prices, wasn't here back then
kinda got in at the right time i guess
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:18 PM
yes
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:18 PM
unless you're talkign about the old days
check to 300k, wont be seeing that any time soon or ever again for that matter
btcddev (sprnt)BOT
The progress of InstantDEX alone should raise the price considerably
It's working so well
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:21 PM
just noticed the sell side, not too shabby either
altho that can easily change
i think btcd is finally getting some eyes on it
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:21 PM
It seems privacy oriented coins are making a resurgence.
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:22 PM
Still a long way to go. It was $8 a while back.
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:22 PM
yes, but to be fair btc was also 600
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:22 PM
Hopefully this rise will be on utility
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:22 PM
agreed
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:22 PM
True, though I've never understood why alts are pegged to btc
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:22 PM
That's why we haven't done much pr yet.
So far the only real trading partner is btc
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:23 PM
I mean, utility is utility
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:23 PM
We'll have a big marketing push when stuff starts releasing
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:23 PM
Good
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:24 PM
i'm still bumbed about not having enough btc for lib777
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:24 PM
I'd like to pay off my mortgage, so make it a big one
What's the buy in price?
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:24 PM
50btc min
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:24 PM
Ouch
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:24 PM
i know
but only at the beginning
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:24 PM
Also, we've built a really large community here. I'm sure a lot of people will begin spreading btcd more when tech is released
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:24 PM
but i guess the funds are needed for pr perhaps
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:24 PM
And what will it do/how will it generate revenues?
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:25 PM
i guess it will hold all james's invention like ramchain and such perhaps
not sure tho
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:25 PM
backedpeg bid/ask spread
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:25 PM
BTCD is still the Cinderella of SuperNET.
Ah
Hmmm
An enterprising person could put together a syndicate and submit a bid
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:28 PM
yes
the dolphin club
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:28 PM
@jahl interested?
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:29 PM
in lib777?
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:29 PM
Yes
With a syndicate
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:30 PM
lib777 is intreging me
but 50btc is a bit too much for me
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:30 PM
I'll put in some
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:30 PM
10 i could do
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:30 PM
Hence the syndicate. Collect 5-10 people who want to invest, pool funds and make a bid
I'm not in a position to do it myself as most of my crypto is already tied up in assets
But if you found a few others you might get the interest
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:31 PM
well if we can find 5 ppl each 10btc, i'm gain
not a bad idea realy
woudl that be allowed james? a collective invetsment
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:33 PM
yes
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:33 PM
yes
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:33 PM
btcddev you're in aswel?
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:34 PM
I'll put in 5btc
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:34 PM
Only thing is it would be centralised, so the organiser would need to be well-known and trusted
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:34 PM
multisig
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:34 PM
james can hold'm
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:34 PM
Should be possible to find someone
starfleet (sprnt)BOT 3:34 PM
why you need 50 btc for?
for a library?
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:34 PM
you could put out an 'at channel' to get some interest
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:35 PM
pegging crypto777 coins to hard assets
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:35 PM
I need to get into the detail behind that idea.
It's a gamechanger if it works. But it seems like magic. It shouldn't be possible.
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:36 PM
I have an idea about how to guarantee our funds are safe
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:37 PM
send them to hollowman
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:37 PM
Or to me. I have never disappeared yet.
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:37 PM
lol @ 'yet'
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:38 PM
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:38 PM
Let's create a nxt asset and whoever sends a percentage of 50btc gets an equivalent percentage of the asset. anyone can send dividends to a nxt asset
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:38 PM
Perfect use case for MS
Crowdfund exactly 50 BTC, asset is released when the total is reached, funds returned if not
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:39 PM
or you don't have to distribute funds as a nxt dividend, but you could just see which accounts have part of the asset and exactly what percentage
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:39 PM
funds will be used to pay for academic whitepapers, bootstrapping reference pegs, other costs required to get things established
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:41 PM
maybe create a channel, invite ppl, and explain all about the asset to them
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:41 PM
Ok
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:41 PM
we do have some financially equipt ppl in slack
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:42 PM
by using BTCD as the mainchain, BTCD becomes the gateway crypto
knuckle (sprnt)BOT 3:42 PM
http://blogs-images.forbes.com/neilversel/files/2014/09/futurama-shut-up-and-take-my-money-card-34.jpg (380KB)
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:42 PM
new backed and pegged assets are created with new funds coming in
still need to solve how best to implement the BTCD sidechain mechanism
and this can probably be made to tie into Teleport
strangely, it is possible to have a BTCD sidechain pegged to BTCD
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:46 PM
You are right, Btcd is quite the sleeper
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:46 PM
I just need to get InstantDEX finalized and the BTC MGW in service, so I dont have them distracting me
I have a feeling a Teleport sidechain could solve the remaining privacy leaks, just need to mindshift back to 100% privacy coding mode
this is a new approach and now with the crypto card available for exit, all the pieces are in place
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:51 PM
We need a description for the asset
If someone wants to write it
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:57 PM
can get word out on supernetradio perhaps
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:57 PM
let us keep this private for now
jahl (sprnt)BOT 3:58 PM
k
heard about it on supernetradio tho
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:58 PM
"This asset represents a share of a 50BTC investment into the crypto777 library. crypto777 is a full-featured cryptocurrency library in standard C under development by jl777. This library will be used to peg BitcoinDark sidechains to real world assets. The funds raised will be used to pay for academic whitepapers, bootstrapping reference pegs, other costs required to get things established"
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:58 PM
I dont want any large number of early investors, this was supposed to be for whales, who are long term oriented
cassius (sprnt)BOT 3:59 PM
What's your preferred capitalisation?
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:59 PM
the description is accurate for this moment in time, but I do not want to be locked into any specifics before all the specifics are determined
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 3:59 PM
sure
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:59 PM
i think it is best to just informally gather intersted dolphins
jahl (sprnt)BOT 4:00 PM
kevondo already picked it up
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:00 PM
I don't think this asset price should be floating from people selling, I think we should find 50btc before issuing it, people who are in for the long haul
The point is just to hold a stake in it, not daytrade it
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:01 PM
crypto777hodl
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:01 PM
lol good one
anyway, let's source the funds first
make sure we have enough
no assets will be sold
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:02 PM
controlled MS coin?
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:02 PM
Does this sound ok?
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:02 PM
I think it's a great use case for MS
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:02 PM
yes
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:02 PM
I haven't used MS yet
jahl (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
me neither
kitchentable (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
Give it a random name like "banana peel" because i think it's funny
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
you like random names kitchentable
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
not sure the exact details on how to issue the right one, but tosch will know
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
Hah, that is why poofknuckle is called poofknuckle. Random name generator
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
a crowdfunding MS coin that is not tradeable, right?
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
Perfect
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
yes
if we can do that
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:03 PM
Love the MS box tick approach
Only can be traded with the issuer
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:04 PM
any dividends can be paid to that account in mgwbtc
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:04 PM
Obviously not tradeable at all would not be good
kevondo (sprnt)BOT 4:04 PM
I'm I in Triuble
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:04 PM
What does that mean?
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:04 PM
Maybe we should wait until it's a little closer
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:04 PM
Oh, you're in trouble
Yes
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
yes , plz wait
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
When there are more details.
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
I might just distribute proprotionally to BTCD/SuperNET holders
jahl (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
oh nice
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
I like to think of my money funding academic research
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
I need to know how more of the details will be solved
kevondo (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
I mentioned Crypto777  a couple days ago
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
it can be mentioned
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
But how would it then be capitalised?
jahl (sprnt)BOT 4:05 PM
i know kev, thats where i heard it from first
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:06 PM
crypto777
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:06 PM
crypto777 is enabling tech
kevondo (sprnt)BOT 4:06 PM
When JL777 called it the solution to the biggest problem in crypto
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:06 PM
backed pegged assets that combine crypto777 + BTCD sidechains would be a usecase
kevondo (sprnt)BOT 4:06 PM
blew my doors off with that statement
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:07 PM
Biggest problem is how to get girls interested, right?
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:07 PM
we need fiat to move into crypto, right?
girls like money
so it solves the girl problem too
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:07 PM
Hm, neat
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:07 PM
but crypto prices are too unstable
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:07 PM
I'm mostly interested in commodities
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:08 PM
even if it goes 10x against crypto over next 10 years, the rollercoaster will make most people avoid it
kevondo (sprnt)BOT 4:08 PM
@ cassius I don't worry about that much any more! lol
maybe i should my girlfriend just moved to Florida
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:08 PM
so ideally we have a crypto that is valued at fixed prices relative to real world things
of course this is not going to appreciate against fiat
but that is not its purpose, it is meant to not lose value against fiat
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:09 PM
James you said you will distribute any dividends to btcd stakers + supernet holders?
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:09 PM
i said anything is possible
not sure yet
kevondo (sprnt)BOT 4:09 PM
so this will "stabilize" the prices of crypto?
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:09 PM
no exactly
it will create a crypto that is both backed and pegged at the same time
the pegged cryptos have an initial capitalization, usually <$1 mil
so it wont be possible to scale this up to absorb new deposits
backed "crypto" this is ripple as the only example I know of now, and it isnt any crypto of the normal sense
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:11 PM
So it'll be more centralized
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:11 PM
no
the ripple is centralized but my backedpegged solution is decentralized, yet can be backed with new deposits and pegged at the same time
cassius (sprnt)BOT 4:12 PM
Do not listen to him. This is sorcery.
kevondo (sprnt)BOT 4:12 PM
and you'd be backing BTCD with BTCD on the side chains?
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:13 PM
so imagine people being able to use it like paypal and just add more funds at will and it is making new crypto 1:1 pegged by a decentralized system
BTCD sidechain for BTCD would be just for BTCD telepods
kevondo (sprnt)BOT 4:13 PM
ok
"backpegged' is confusing me
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:14 PM
By using BTCD as a gateway for the backedpegged assets, then we will need to have gateway nodes that recycle the BTCD
@kevondo: backed pegged is still early in the development cycle, I need to finish the current projects before I can dedicate time to coding more than proof of concepts
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:16 PM
After iDEX is released, you will be working full time on crypto777?
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 4:19 PM
Teleport is rising to the top of the list, but it is possible teleport is solved via crypto777
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 4:20 PM
Ok
well let's put this on hold for now, we can pick it back up when the time is right
For now, I have been pleasantly surprised at how well idex is working on windows
yassinnxt (sprnt)BOT 5:29 AM
hi all
i have download last client supernet 2.0, my problem is adress BTCD  is incorrect
i can not send my btcd in my wallet supernet
sorry english not good
thanks all
my wallet is bGzChjyd2QSy6ngHvao************
longzai1988 (sprnt)BOT 5:35 AM
@yassinnxt: Can i have your NXT account public key for investigation
cassius (sprnt)BOT 5:36 AM
If you had an existing BTCD address, will the SuperNET one not be different? I thought the address was calculated from the same privkey as NXT address.
yassinnxt (sprnt)BOT 5:36 AM
you need public key?
longzai1988 (sprnt)BOT 5:38 AM
@yassinnxt: I need your NXT public key to check your supernet BTCD wallet address and see what causes your problem
yassinnxt (sprnt)BOT 5:38 AM
ok wait
longzai1988 (sprnt)BOT 5:38 AM
@cassius: The BTCD address shown in SuperNET is a msig address from multigateway
cassius (sprnt)BOT 5:39 AM
Right, thanks
yassinnxt (sprnt)BOT 5:39 AM
sorry where i can found mu public key in wallet nxt?

you can login into advance view from the supernet client, then click on your balance to see your account details
yassinnxt (sprnt)BOT 5:40 AM
i have found
thanks
longzai1988 (sprnt)BOT 5:44 AM
i have found your BTCD address which end with ******5s9S5
i try to send 1 BTCD to the address with no problem
yassinnxt (sprnt)BOT 5:45 AM
yes  5s9S5
longzai1988 (sprnt)BOT 5:45 AM
maybe some typo on your address
yassinnxt (sprnt)BOT 5:46 AM
you have send 1BTCD?

kinda sucks seeing btcd this stable on exchanges lol

Why is Polo not allowing BTCD withdrawals? I don';t want to leave my money on an exchange. :disappointed:
gabes (sprnt)BOT 5:45 PM
Just got a response from Poloniex support: "This is temporary, we are attempting to resolve a problem on the wallet and it should be resolved soon."
neal (sprnt)BOT 11:09 PM
@gabes: Thank you very much mate. I missed your message last night due to eating a large pepperoni pizza and a large kebab and immediately falling asleep
@gabes: I will try withdrawing again today. )

FYI: xpool.ca just  sent 78+ BTCD out to miners! Thanks for the supper  cheers!

Seller on bittrex is very patient.  I wonder if they will pull their sell orders and dump their ~6000 BTCD after some period of time.
jahl (sprnt)BOT 4:26 PM
could be a buyer
neal (sprnt)BOT 6:40 PM
Poloniex are still not allowing withdrawals! This has been going on a few days now and is pissing me off. I run a BCTD wallet on my server and I don't have a lot in there but it's nicc to get 0.5 BTCD evry couple of days or so for staking permanently. Polo need to sort this out.
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 6:42 PM
we are working with them. it seems someone is intentionally sending in dust tx, which is making it hard for them to process withdraws
@btcddev: is helping them, so it should be sorted soon
neal (sprnt)BOT 6:46 PM
Thanks @jl777 and @btcddev. It's only a small amount but I want it off Polo and in my QT wallet!
btcddev (sprnt)BOT 7:01 PM
I suspect btcd faucets could be one source of the dust tx's

coin was launched almost a year ago
consistently top 25 coin
it is in PoS phase
PoW phase is long over, so just multipools
if you have a lot of hashpower, you can mine any coin, sell it and buy BTCD with it
not to mine, but you can stake
same effect, without the electricity part
blackyblack (sprnt)BOT 12:43 AM
pos mining is very simple - you collect as much coins as you can and that's all
yes
you even don't need to have your wallet open
yes

Anyone knows as instantdex completes will it have impact on number of btcd transactions in network? Still didn't have time to check it out in detail.
jl777 (sprnt)BOT 3:22 AM
not initially
but indirectly since BTCD is one of the reference currencies, there will be more demand for it

Hello!
this my first time joining an altcoin community!
crackers (sprnt)BOT 7:14 PM I've had some feedback from some Titan miners which were having some issues with lower efficiency. Mainly due to lower diff coins causing way too many stale and rejects cause the Titan can literally solve sooo many blocks from one round of work.So I just got finished the re-coding of the profit calculations. This will allow me to now setup separate ports calculating the profitability independently of each port. I'll let this run a day or so just to make sure, in it's basic form, is making accurate profitability calculations. Then I can create an additional Titan port which will have only high diff coins. The normal vardiff will include all coins and perhaps then I'll make some low diff port as well and bring back some of the low diff coins for slow miners to bang off some blocks easily. This will give a bit more flexibility to miners and improve efficiency.Cheers!

At least this time the person isn't setting huge low sell orders and selling to themselves but instead doing the reverse  Smiley

If I would have like 2k coins, how much BTCD could I stake per week or month? And do I need to split into smaller amounts to get the maximum stake rewards? The current PoS reward is still 5% right? Those additional Supernet revenues are not active yet ?

Questions questions ..  Grin
yes 5% per year so 2000 * 0.05 / 52 -> about 2 per week
if your connection is good, more stakes wont matter. the issue is on a bad connection you could easily lose out to another node the time you were all set to stake.

Yes, a valid point, you lose money if the stock/coin etc you hold dies, but I don't think that applies to BTCD. People currently under water with BTCD can be scared into selling by fud and negativity. That's not good! BTCD isn't about to fold, so just hodl until you're in profit before you sell.

Right, and I wasn't saying BTCD was going to tank or fold, I just see that "you didn't lose money if you didn't sell" line a lot, and it always bothers me.

The biggest problem is, I would say 99% of the people in alts are speculating and day trading an not in it for a long time. As a matter of fact, I bet most folks the buy alts consider long term to be 1-3 months or maybe even shorter.

I agree, many people around crypto have a very short term horizon . Those prepared to scratch the surface and do some research stand to reap a lot of rewards, even from so called 'shit coins'.

Recently I did some spring cleaning on a bunch of PoS coins I purchased last year that I haven't kept up staking maintenance on for a long while. As I went through the process of visiting forum threads to download new clients for syncing I discovered to my surprise that many coins I dabbled with over the last 12 months have active communities still, even though their price and trade volumes are in the toilet.

If you scan the last 5-6 forum pages of a coin's thread it's pretty easy to spot which communities are still engaged. You don't necessarily get a true  impression of how the 2nd and 3rd tier coins are going just from scanning coinmarketcap and sorting by price or trade volume. Who knows what will happen in the future, but IMO the community behind a coin is almost as important as the tech (e.g. Doge), and there's no way to quickly compare how vibrant different coin communities are, you have to visit forum threads and judge for yourself.

Price and trade volume are an indication, but during the long bear market everyone suffers to a certain extent. I was pleasantly surprised to find many alts in much better health than I thought. These aren't in the same class as BTCD, but I believe many coins can survive once crypto adoption grows into billions of users, and some so called 'shit coins' still have the exact same first gen tech as bitcoin. What they need is people supporting their blockchains and helping new users, and that seems to be happening with many coins I re-examined. I think traders and speculators move on after a month or two, but some coins have loyal supporters still working together, and that's really good news for the future of crypto (i.e. crypto enthusiasts still here in large numbers).

Hello, do you have mental issues, by any chance?

Yes, I must be crazy to expect you pool spammers to follow a simple rule like this one:

Advertising spam is not allowed, this includes mining pools

Mining pool ops should make a thread within the Mining section of Alt Currencies.

advertising your pool is unnecessary and leads to too much spam.

Anything to say about BTCD?  When is something going to be finished?

Pangea Poker is already late, but we don't know why.

BBR is a "core coin" in name only.  There is zero integration with the rest of SuperNet.

jl777 keeps launching new projects but never completes anything.

This feature bloat is getting old, and starting to look like a scamming technique to string us along.
