Hi all,
I hope you can help me out. I have been trying to get the wallet to run for some time now, without success.
I am running MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 and installed the QT wallet and copied the bootstrap to the right folder. After many days of syncing, it gets stuck at around 57%, then it crashes "IOCoin-Qt quit unexpectedly." When I restart, it starts synching again for a few minutes before it crashes again.
I have tried to uninstall and install again. Same result. Anyone with a similar experience?
i/o support team just closes my tickets without response, so I was hoping the community may be able to help.

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

 We are currently working in a private GitHub account. The source code being reviewed while we finish wallet testing for upcoming release. DIONS code is over 3500 lines of new code that need to be tested and reviewed thoroughly. Once the review is complete we will open source! We reached out to Bittrex as well to review and plan the DIONS upgrade. Cheers, Team I/O Digital |

Dumb question. Can records be expunged from the blockchain? I have no idea how coins are "burned", but would assume it could be done to take info off the chain?
Edit: I do realize you can delete the wallet file or the key, but I meant a way to be picky and choosy and not risk all coins.

 A personal message from Joel. I want to touch on an delicate area. First of all blockchain projects are highly experimental, everyone is pushing the boundaries in their own ways. For us it wasn’t easy, specially looking at the scene full of insiders and money flowing to many other projects that rightfully so emerged. We send nothing but the best wishes to all these projects as they represent our space. We only hope that our work will be taken in good light and as the independent ones (Dark Horse) we will surely expect some fud, specially when we coded over 3k Lines of code over the last 2 years. To put this into context one third party dev that I won’t mention said “I saw the repo, hard to see much from how the commits are done - and the DIONS file is like 3k lines” This was kind of funny because we can see that with the emergence of Tokens on ETH some developers are not used to seeing this amount of work. Others might not grasp how we coded DIONS or might feel threatened for some reason. We are prepared for every scenario, and look forward to constructive ideas from the open source community. Green lightWe did get green light to show the code by other devs and we are happy that they saw it as strong proposition. In the end we are laying a ground work for something even bigger. This is only the beginning of a larger plan. As I had said all along there will be ecosystems that correlate with one another in sharing features and hardening security. Our propositions will start to drop after DIONS is released and we hope our community can grow and learn along with our team to embrace all possibilities that await for our future. We have a set of companies that are looking forward to POC of DIONS and we will inform the community as the come on board. To all our I/O Coin holders, make sure to keep your backups up to date .dat and if possible entire iocoin folder. Check in over the next weeks as we call a block and give out instructions on DIONS. I will be making instructional videos on the wallet and the chain, to be available on DIONS release. I will be spending less time on slack as we get closer to DIONS release. We have lots of coordinating to do with code repo, meetings, marketing etc but if anyone needs me please pm and I will get back as soon as possible. Thank you everyone and have a great weekend. Outstanding. I will hold off on questions and guesses until DIONs is out and I can play with it. Still looking forward to this. I have several ideas to try out with DIONs. Looking forward to fun times this year.

IMPORTANT MILESTONE
2.5 yr I/O Coin DIONS development goes Open Source today. - this is a very important milestone for the team and the I/O Digital project.
We are making contacts and inviting Bittrex, Poloniex and Devs to review code. IT’s has been 2 1/2 years of work.
For me (Founder Joel Bosh) is like sending my child to School for the first time and waiting on the teacher to give me views on my child.
But in all honesty I want to let everyone know that we have poured or brains on the code and it’s a big day for us filled with mix feelings but most importantly super excited.
During this period the code will be reviewed by the open source community.
Today the smoke and mirrors argument is now put to bed.
Will be going live soon.

You get to be proud of the kid, no matter what! Congrats guys. Long road well traveled. No matter how this goes, you guys poured effort into a project you believed in. Be proud and I really hope it becomes all you want it to be.
Of all the coins I have followed, you guys are in the top tier of teams, hands down. You have proven success through vision and hard work. Very, very good example for coins and people everywhere.

I would not worry about naysayers. This has actually been a fairly pleasant forum. Most people on here seem thoughtful and optimistic, as well as serious about this project. Far better than some of these projects with tons of dumbasses just being asses for the sake of it.
There is a very good future here. Where it ends up is anyone's guess. But, for my money, this is the one with more potential for success in the real world than any other I follow.
Very interested to see how the coin world reacts to DIONs.

That thought crossed my mind. But, as BTC is showing the world right now, demand blows away the buy on rumor stuff. Besides, it sounds like IOC will have a string of advancements out after DIONs. |

The calm before the storm.......
With all the money coming into coins now, there should be no reason IOC cannot make it to $10 a coin.
I know that is not what you guys are about, but I am really looking for valuation that reflects the actual use of the coin.
IOC is one of the few that should almost be to that line now. Would love to see this coin start the trend toward investment because of real world and practical use.
