More ramblings. Simple truth is: holding BTC would have been better than buying IOC, since BTC would have netted more profits in the last year. Also, its considerably less risky to hold BTC than some shitcoin. That is the do nothing scenario; moreover, you could have bought one of countless other altcoins that are up many fold in the past year, which have outperformed IOC by thousands of %.  Thats it. You can twist it all you want and despite all your personal attacks, that remains the plain truth. Statistics dont lie. Keep holding those IOC bags bro, no one is buying them from you.

No surprise there.  No specifics at all and no real advice.  Cannot learn anything from you because you don't want to or cannot help anyone. I did not use big words, so I doubt you were confused.  Just unable to actually tell anyone anything of real value because you would not even if you could.   All talk.

Luckily, I don't need your advice, I do just fine.

Good luck to anyone who takes you seriously, they will need all of it they can get.

Lol, if you can read, I already told everyone to learn for themselves in forum.  Tough to take you seriously if you don't read yourself.  I also don't tell anyone to buy any particular coin, it is their decision.  If you are dumping out, sorry for your loss, good luck with your future.

Hi I/O team!
Can someone please help me to understand your new DIONS wallet restore function:

Is your wallet hierarchical deterministic, I mean: a ONETIME Backup of the private key is ALL one needs, in order to be able to restore his wallet at any given time?

OR: Is the private key NOT enough, and instead one must ensure REGULAR backups??

If the latter is the case: Why make it so complicated ? Its much more secure and comfortable to use onetime feature.  is it technically really so complex to provide a hierarchical deterministic solution (like many other current wallets coinomi, parity, electrum, etc. offer)?

Looking forward to your reply, thx!

the Old html5 wallet did not have the feature to export your private keys. The QT wallet did.
The new HTML5 wallet has the feature to export your private key (press ESC for command line).

So if you had QT and the private key from that you can import it to the new wallet. But not many did and thats why we focus on wallet.dat restore.

HI ,thx but I dont see answer to my question: i want to know, if you have to make REGULAR backups of your wallet.dat file (each time your balances change),  OR  if it is enough to save ONCE your wallet.dat  file and use it forever to restore your wallet (you dont have to make backups after each time your balances change)->this ONETIME backup will always show your CURRENT balances.

which of those 2 options is the case with the new DIONS wallet??

Thanks

You need to make a regular backup. If your balance changes only there is nothing you need to do.
If you add a new address, make an alias then you should.

I/O TEAM, URGENT:

What happened to your BITTREX Wallet? You said its safe to keep there and you worked with them for the Fork transition; now the wallet is inactive and status says "Wallet offline - Potential fork investigated" ?!?  Please give an update to the community about this issue asap, thank you!

NOTICE

We are currently in the process of an important IOC upgrade.

Old wallet:
If you are using the old QT wallet or old HTML5 wallet, please take it offline immediately.

New wallet:
If your new wallet is stuck with synching at 99%, please take it offline and await a new wallet update.
If your new wallet is not at version 1.0.3 (see https://github.com/IOCoin/dions/releases ) then also get that offline and wait for a new update.

Bittrex offline for precautionary measures.
First of all: All funds are safe! Just make a backup of your wallet.dat and everything is fine.
Bittrex is on the right network and our blockchain explorer as well. Just some private wallets are not.

Forks are happening on a regular basis in general but if the majority of the network is at the right network, then there is no problem.
Due to our major upgrade and people not taking the old wallet down we experience some upgrade issues.

We currently have too many old wallets still online so there are two IOC networks right now. We asked people in a push message to get them offline, but many did not. So some wallets are on the old blockchain and some are on the new.

We are asking users that did not upgrade to take their wallets offline and are working to get people on the correct blockchain.
So please stay put for an update, don't send any coins and wait for updates.

All funds are safe!

We just need more people on the right blockchain. That is almost done and if done we will get an update ready so people synching their wallet will sync with the good blockchain.

If you want to follow us live, please join discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/gMVubkh
Or updates through Twitter: https://twitter.com/IO_Coin

Thanks
