It really shouldn't, else this will open up potential problems (e.g. groups attacking specific moderator for the deletion of their posts).
There should be accountability. If someone gets the banhammer on Poloniex, for example, you know which mod gave it. Do groups attack mods because of it? No, and they would know better than to do so without warrant, unless they all wish to get banned. The mods are already accountable to theymos since he often reviews our performance at the end of a month (or so he said).

Forever of course. Though not from the start mostly. It starts slow but for serious caused troubles you can get instantly banned for life.

i would suggest to allow embedded NSFW images in thread titled with [NSFW] at the beginning, because some of the link to NSFW stuff could be a scam, by allowing those embedded images, they will have less reason to scam others.
|
out of ability to use the signature, i want a new ban strike policy that will fade the strike after 90~120 days of the ban and not to be traced back, like google | email me for anything urgent, message will possibly not be instantly responded i am not really active for some reason

This would not be of help because scammers simply would use a random porn image from the net to mask their malware.

ok. however, we still have a certain prevention from those malware, by not allowing the file to be downloaded directly, so i can take a look if they are malware or not.

Embedding would allow to implement the malware directly into the thread, loading automatically while having a link gives you the decision to download it.

Hello,
I would like to create a new local board (for a language that still has no local board). Can anyone tell me how to proceed? (I might have missed the guidelines for that, if any were in the original post, and I'm sorry for that). Thank you.

They will only be created if there's demmand for one. Create a thread in Meta if you would like to further discuss your proposal.

Thx for the reply, okay then I might create a topic in Meta to discuss that. So, there will be demand if users replied on the potentiel thread I'll create and said "Yes, it would be a good idea" or are there some other measures to quantifiy demand?

Well, the first option would be to create a thread in Other languages/locations (if there isn't one there already?): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=11.0 If it gets popular then maybe then would be the time to discuss creating a specific sub board for it but if it's not lively then there's probably not much need for it.

You might want to look at the discussion in this thread. Can the Philippines PLEASE get their own sub-section? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1112318.0

Added new rule with an explanation (as per hilariousandco's suggestion): 33. Posting plagiarized content is not allowed.[e]
<...>
33. This includes both copying parts or the entirety of other users' posts or threads and copying content from external sources (e.g. other websites) and passing it as your own. Also, since SaltySpitoon pointed out, added the "Need confirmation if rule is still active." marker on the following rule: Also, added SaltySpitoon in the credits.

As per the new dox policy, I've modified one FAQ question: Q: What about deleting DOXes?A: Nope, we don't delete them either as long as they comply with the following rules: <...> 1. Personal information must be confined to the new "investigations" board (under Scam Accusations), which is only visible to Members and above. Personal information is defined as anything which links a user's online identity (username, email, etc.) to their meatspace identity, excluding links that the person himself has posted. It is not allowed to post somebody's personal information in any other public place, including in signatures. 2. It is not allowed to post someone's dox if it is especially obvious that you're just using the dox as a weapon. For example, if there are no remotely-plausible trade complaints, then the person can't be a scammer, and their dox should not be posted. 3. As before, anything that the legacy insecure government/banking system requires to be secret is not allowed anywhere. This includes social security numbers, credit card numbers, and certain account numbers. <...>
Why aren't they deleted? Because such doxing is just compiling information about a user already available publicly, often via search engines. Also, modified one of the topic names of the translations as it has slightly changed:

Hey mrprep could you please check your PM
I have reported 2 trolls who keep on bashing, spamming, trolling, causing confusion, spreading false rumours and created a fake ANN thread to try and sabotage the project.
It's unfair how these people get away here and nothing be done and real members who want real information get ignored.
I have pm'd you the name of these 2 people and please feel free to check their posts etc and how much they keep on spamming continuously non stop. The owner of this project had to shut down the original thread because of these 2 and open a new moderated thread, and then they just go ahead and create a fake ANN thread about this project.

The owner of this project had to shut down the original thread because of these 2 and open a new moderated thread, and then they just go ahead and create a fake ANN thread about this project.
If you would've read the thread you happen to be posting in, you would know that the following... bashing causing confusion spreading false rumours ...is, in it self, not moderated as per the many reasons stated in OP (e.g. difficulty of getting the actual unbiased truth in order to make a judgment, the common lack of reliable evidence, freedom of speech, etc.). Also, they did not create a fake ANN - they stated that they made a discussion thread for a coin whose main thread is self-moderated since they believe the coin is a scam. Furthermore, sarcasm and skepticism isn't trolling. Lastly, anyone can create an ANN thread of any coin as long as that thread isn't redundant (e.g. community takeover, hard fork, locked or self-moderated thread, etc.). If you have any further qualms with my answer, direct them to me via PM, not via the thread whose main purpose is to discuss about rules, not report cases of such rules being broken (that's what the "Report to Moderator" link at the bottom right side of each post is for). Also, it's mprep, not mrprep.

What is the difference beetwen official and non official rules?
Does non official mean, that it is not official when staff does not want to apply them and official would mean they need to apply rules?
If your staff does apply rules only when it fits to agenda and not applying when it does not fit to someone's agenda, then rules are being twisted by meanings and there is silence from staff.
Please explain me the meaning of unofficial rules and how is staff being instructed to apply them.

What is the difference beetwen official and non official rules?
Does non official mean, that it is not official when staff does not want to apply them and official would mean they need to apply rules? It's an unofficial list (meaning it wasn't written by the head admin, meaning there can be errors, misinterpreted rules, etc. though I try to correct those as they are pointed out) of official rules (rules that have been put in by the head admin OR the head admin approved a rule suggested by one or several of the staff). If your staff does apply rules only when it fits to agenda and not applying when it does not fit to someone's agenda, then rules are being twisted by meanings and there is silence from staff.
Please explain me the meaning of unofficial rules and how is staff being instructed to apply them. As I mentioned in my answer to your PM: I haven't seen rule exclusions as far as I remember. I've seen situations when rules were changed (the new restricted dox rule that came into play around half a month ago) and as such the way certain situations get handled change (doxes get moved to the Investigations board or, in extreme situations, deleted). If you're looking to share your conspiracy theories with someone, feel free to PM someone active in the "Politics and Society" board. I hear there's quite a few people interested in that sort of stuff.

What is the difference of official and unofficial if you and most reffer to unofficial as official??? Maybe I am dumb, but for me it sounds like official = unofficial with difference that unofficial rules ???are being adapted in this thread??? and official not?? Wow! You can't edit official rules when there is a need to do it and thats why there are unofficial rules. Means, you mods and users reffer to unofficial rules including links and everything else when you need some explanation but when it does not fit to your agenda, you reffer to it as if it would not be a rule, just something unofficial?? Wow, I am amzed again by such briliant logic. If your staff does apply rules only when it fits to agenda and not applying when it does not fit to someone's agenda, then rules are being twisted by meanings and there is silence from staff.
Please explain me the meaning of unofficial rules and how is staff being instructed to apply them. You did not reply, what you wrote would be more provocation, not an answer. Actually there was something new, you complain about my english skills, you simply can't understand my broken english. Nice record on low level conversation which I actually did not expect from staff members. You are making an dumbster of yourself if you really comment on your own mistakes by me starting some conspiracy theories. There is no conspiracy, you let users abuse this forum and it's rules by letting a group of trolls break law and make some usage of ie. identity theft, actually YOU are the mod who ignored it and who was and still is saying that nobody broke any rule! This is mainly the reason why I say that you are hypocrate without any insult, it only describes your actions, it is you who can prove otherwise but somehow you do not change in your argumentation, well yeah you do in some way, you go after "bad english skills" as excuse. What is the difference beetwen official and non official rules?
