7xGPU + Windows // modding AMD video driver is the answer

hello,

this is my first post and sorry for this but i am a noob here in mining world. As per right now i am building a 5x RX570 1x RX 580 in windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Has anyone tried this bios mod on newer catalyst? say like 17.4.4 or 17.6.2? i've tried it and still got no luck. my rig can only detect 4 gpu and the other 2 has code 43 on the device manager. i've set virtual memory to 16gb but still no luck.
Can anyone enlight me? thx

5 GPU is working OK with 17.4.4 and this patch, but as soon I plug 6th card, Windows start to load, and then it hangs. Without this patch and with 17.4.4 4 cards work, and 2 are with error.

Yes, this board is buggy. Wont buy it again. And it seems the quality differs from board to board. Anyway. I reinstall Win 10 completly (rest all data) plug everything in. Boot it and than never touched it again.

You need to set the PCIE to generation 1.

I've already tried and could not make it in ~10h.
However, AMD released driver, which supports up to 12 GPU.

i'm gonna test win 7 and win 10 on monday with different gpu's (maximum 17) and will post here some results

I have a problem with 5 GPUs, with 4 everything is OK, but with 5 570s I cannot use the monitor, I see blinking gray dots after Windows logo, everything is working but I can work only with TeamViewer.

Windows 7 only supports up to 4 GPU's of the same brand (AMD or Nvidia). This hack hasn't been updated in almost two years and no longer works with the current drivers. Upgrade to Windows 10 for free while you can. The accessibility loophole ends on Dec. 31.

yes; i had tried windows 7 and 17.1x.x and i'm unable to activate more than 7 GPU's ; with or without this mod; so windows 10 is the only way

No idea. It's just a warning anyway. Tick 'Force' and proceed.

Typically Catalyst_Version registry key is present for every AMD GPU in the system. If values don't match - it's weird, they should match.
In your case, looks like it's empty. Probably because new drivers don't have Catalyst at all.

However, mod stopped working when RX video cards came out. And Win10 supports 6xGPUs out of the box..
