Nothing is dead, I have started work on the client side encrypted web wallet but it's turning out to be much harder than expected. I took a look at the brain wallet javascript code and realized they are actually building the entire transactions in javascript, which isn't much help to me because Cryptonite tx's have a totally different structure. So my only option at this point seems to be to rewrite all that code. I should be able to figure it out but it's going to be a pain in the ass and I have other jobs I need to get done, so I'm willing to pay up to 0.5 BTC to anyone who can rewrite the code to correctly sign a raw Cryptonite transaction.

strange...my wallet is running just fine under win7 x64. not a single crash so far.

My wallet's running well on my win 8.1 pro x64 , fully synced with 8 connections as well..

The problems seem isolated to only some Windows machines. I think the issue may have something to do with the Visual C++ Redistributable Package or some other package which is installing incompatible system dll's which Cryptonite is trying to use. Do any of you guys have Visual Studio installed?

Keep up the good work bitfreak! I always considered this as a longtime-investment so Im not concerned about the price anyway. I think there will be no major ups until a new bitcoin rally and rising awareness of bloated blockchain issues occurs. That will take some time until then but Im confident that these events will take place finally. Until then, more time to buy the dips every now and then..

I am unable to sync the blockchain. It stuck at block 246270 for 3 hours already. The message that wallet displays is: Downloading headers - 7 days behind.

I tried to re-sync (with option --resync) 2 times (deleted peers.dat). No success yet.

Wow! there is still 1.5Gh on this coin. What noob said it was dead? lol. This is one coin we got in 2014 with innovation. There were a few others but not many.

It seems that the only possible solution now is to delete the entire blocks directory "after taking a backup of the wallet of course", Give it a try.

Steps I have done:

- Delete /blocks, peers.dat, trie.dat (do not delete wallet.dat)
- Run cryptonite-qt with option -resync -rescan

The whole block chain has been downloaded in 20 minutes

The max block size is 2 times the average size of the last hundred blocks. So if the last 100 blocks had an average size of 5MB then the max block size for the next block would be 10MB. The lower limit is 2MB to ensure that tx's will always get into the block.

I've started cryptonited with -server and ensure that the username and password are the same as what was entered in the client install. Any idea of where I'm going wrong?

My guess would be that you don't have curl installed.
