Update: Website is >95% finished, and so is the ANN thread draft (I gave the ANN thread a similar design as the website). Right now I am finishing the forum (adding spam reduction, moving everything to new server) I am also working on the linux 32 and 64 bit builds (this takes most of the time, since I want to make them as statically linked as possible.) When I have the forum and the linux builds ready we can go online. Thanks for your hard work mate. Whilst you're here, fancy a quick debate on who I should vote for in the upcoming UK general election? Farage.

Or maybe have a "newbie jail". Or we should make it so that you need to fill out a form to get in and a question on there could be "Who is the creator of Spreadcoin" and the person needs to type "Mr. Spread" and then they are able to register.

Success! Linux binaries are finally here: First the 64bit: http://spreadcointalk.org/SpreadCoin64.tar.xzCan someone test this please? (both daemon and qt please) I tested it on a fresh ubuntu 14 installation that had basically nothing installed on it, and it worked. (so this means that all (or enough of ) the necessary libraries are embeded (linked) in the files now. I can try and statically link even more libraries, but that could be unnecessary.)

Yep, I am going to implement that. I remember a pal introduced a question on his site, using the simple machines forum package. It worked, but he had to keep changing the question. What he thinks was happening was someone was getting a prompt from their spam bot to go to his site, read the question, then he loaded the answer in to the bot - I think. But it did slow down the spam.

BTW, it's not about reducing spam to zero (that's never going to happen), but just an order of magnitude less spam would be nice...

Did you see the post about going on IRC with Sy from litecointalk? He has a miner monitoring service. I'm going to contact him tomorrow about doing an IRC for possibly creating a version for SPR. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=715435.msg11239160#msg11239160Anyway, he is a mod on Litecointalk, which means he could also help to answer how they deal with spam posts. If not, I know one of the other mods I can ask after the IRC chat.

If not, I know one of the other mods I can ask after the IRC chat. Yes, I read all posts, but I have too many things I have to look after at the moment. I say go for it, talk to him, spread the spread in whatever way you see fit. It definitely looks promising, but I haven't yet mined any SPR myself... so I am not an expert to judge this... So I guess tomorrow is definitely the time the ANN / Website / Forum will attack full frontal with a triple-attack-combo!

Just to go in the opposite direction - I tested ’em on an existing ubuntu 14 installation that has basically everything installed and both worked. Cheers Graham
