Here is the issue for those ring sig coins:

Zerocash.

And it's coming out soon, but being academics - soon could be another 12 months.

http://insidebitcoins.com/news/mits-madars-virza-bitcoin-privacy-issues-and-how-zerocash-can-help/30751

However, when it is out, then the ring sig coins will face stiff competition from similar technology that might be much better.

Where do you go from there?  Copy zerocash?

I also voted spreadnodes on spreadcointalk

I first chose servernodes, but I have changed my vote to servicenodes, because it just sounds more compelling.

I've come to really love the concept of "Servicenodes"

If you place a copyright mark against it, then you begin to place a marker in the sand that you intend to protect that name or you rely on it for commercial reasons.

If someone else makes an application to trademark that name, you can object on the basis that it was in ordinary use and you made a point of assigning some reliance on the distinct name for the benefit of the network. You can also use evidence of when you started using the name for the benefit of the network. This is useful to establish priority rights.

so

http://servicenodes.com/

and

http://servicenodes.net/

are taken, but not operational at this time. That's positive news.

A basic US trademark search shows up

search for trademarks for yourself here

Also good.

Who cares about *.net and *.com, most valuable TLD in cryptoland is *.org anyway.

That's why I just registed servicenode(s).org  Cool

That is cool.

I only care because of priority rights arguments. But those sites are blank, so you are good to go.

FWIW Dept:

Bitcredit has a masternode implementation on test:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=896133.msg10781381#msg10781381

In this implementation they would appear to be termed “bank nodes” and this description hints at functionality:

“Your node earns you between 1000 and 2000 BCR a week for processing tx, escrow and acting as insurer of large transactions.”

Bitcredit github source for code mavens.

Cheers

Graham

Thanks for this head's up! Amazed at how many here seemed to miss your post completely.
I just read through all 34 pages of that ANN and the dev there seems legit and quite skilled...almost Mr. Spread-like. Definitely worth watching the masternode implementation (March 31 I think).
JL

I own a DASH Masternode.... And you should too.

He actually has some pretty good ideas he is implementing besides the MN.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

Thanks for this head's up!

I wish I could comment in more technical depth but I'm still building an understanding of the implementation strategy.

Whoever wants to mine this can get in with the difficulty low at under 11, way better than the 60 when things where happening for SPR.

Updated the links on the SPR pool in case someone wants to mine
Looks like I have to repeat the question every 10 pages:
Did You published source code for Your "pool miner"? Anyone successfully compiled from source? If not than any one full enough to run closed binaries should go after cointellect "miner". Pays at least 10 times more than your "pool miner"...

Where are the links?? I must have missed it.

Also, I am going to say this again but very simply... (how to remove pools)

We make it so that block is just a hash and does not relate to a mining address at all.

Then once a miner finds a valid block, we somehow get masternodes to confirm that a specific address mined it. (the miner submits his address to the masternodes with the block data)

This means that when a pool's miners finds a block, the block finder can swap out the pool's address with his address when he submits it to the masternodes. No one will know if he was mining as part of the pool or not because the submitted block has no information that relates it to the pool.
