i'm certain gizfreak is an honest guy, but always be careful with third party links.
...so if you're on linux, get the source on github and compile yourself.

I heard your solution to avoid gps spoofing
but..

what about running into a geo faucet and go through multiple wallets and different IPs to grab all coins ?

don't forget this one pls, I really don't see how you could intent to adress that

I think you could simply temporarily turn off the faucet if it suddenly detects multiple IP addresses popping up within its vicinity requesting coins.

You could maybe set up multiple "zones" around a faucet point (think of multiple circular zones gradually growing in size extending outward from the center which will be the faucet cache point) and only reward people who have passed through at least two of those zones. This way you would force people to at least have to walk back and forth between zones with different IP addresses which I feel like would probably be enough of a deterrent for most people, especially when coupled with some kind of a variable cooldown timer to prevent rapid draining from the faucet.
I think also registration on forum or a Checkcoin faucet site can prevent unwanted usage of the geo-faucet location.
Also good for community building and get the right spirit for collecting coins from geo faucets.

Haven't thought about that, but you're right with being careful with third party links.
Well let's just hope the dev team will provide a working link asap.

We had this discussion before and I think that atm we are fine with those 3 big exchanges we got now. Really no need to stalk Bittrex to get added.

Yes it is working fine now. Thank you for resolving this issue so fast!  Smiley

@Gizfreak thank you for going through the trouble of setting up an alternate download link, very helpful of you  Wink

On a completely different note, I don't know if it's just me, but I wanted to say that I find the Checkcoin logo extremely catchy.
I've seen hundreds of coin logos and CKC is by far my favorite one. I just love the simplicity, there are no complex patterns or intricate details/textures and only 2 colors. It's to-the-point and the kind of logo that sticks to the mind easily. Having an easily recognizable logo is extremely desirable when it comes to marketing.
Awesome design by the team, you guys couldn't have done it any better!!  Cool

i'm with you richard, but i don't think it needs a broad consensus in the community to get this done. just do your thing.
i have been wondering why we aren't already on there yet, since pretty much any coin gets added. its a) bittrex is pissed cause the ICO was on c-cex, b) the devs specifically asked not to be added or c) knowing that there are ICO funds bittrex is waiting for a 'bribe'.
so if the devs could just give us some input on that no efforts need to be wasted.

and btw, does anybody know if ckc will be on mintpalv2 from the start?

It's getting harder and harder to buy CKC by the way.
A lot of buy pressure on C-Cex. Cheap coins will soon be a thing of the past.

Plenty still on BTER. It will take some time to soak up the IPO sales, because there are lots of flippers who are happy with small profits.

Agree, logo is a truly great one.

I do not fully understand how the GPS will embed adoption, but am willing to support the project and buy some.

Devs are sensible, and need to remember that it is a long game. Better not to rush the stages. If the market price stays low for now, that is good.

Hello crypto friends,

Since I promised to share some more information about the projects our team is currently working on here's one we would like to share with our community. This idea has been in our minds ever since we started working on Checkcoin but started to take more serious forms after the success of our ICO. The funds we received trough our ICO have enabled us to work on a lot of side projects, this is one we are very exited about. We believe it will be a great PR tool and will help create awareness and attract a lot of new people to the Checkcoin community.

For a while, we have been working on ways to update our current Lamassu ATM’s with new software that will allow users to sell or buy Checkcoins with FIAT in a matter of seconds. The software is a fork based on Lamassu's current open source software.

Introducing Checkcoin Zones

Over the last year we have helped a lot of companies setup and accept Bitcoin using different hardware and software solutions. By placing Lamassu ATMs in citycenters and getting business owners to accept Bitcoin, we have already created several “Bitcoin Zones” in citycenters throughout the Netherlands. Oar goal is to update these ATMs and create similar “Checkcoin Zones” where people can go to spend, collect or “cash out” Checkcoins. We are still in early stages, but our current PR budget should allow us to set up some Checkcoin Zones in the Netherlands.

Checkcoin Zones are areas that hold interesting Checkpoints, places where businesses accept Checkcoin as a method of payment and customers are able to “cash out” Checkcoins by getting discounts in stores or using Checkcoin ATMs.

When the software is finished and released we will approach all of our clients and send them guides that will allow for quick and easy setup. This way many businesses will be able to set up their own Checkcoin Zones.

Best regards,

BitSend
