It's IOU(future) coins trade. I think it's just pure speculation. Otherwise I haven't heard any important news recently.

Abstract
The popularization of Bitcoin, a decentralized, trustless, crypto-currency has inspired the production of several alternative, or \alt", currencies. Ethereum, CryptoNote, and Zerocash all represent unique contributions to the crypto-currency space. Although most alt currencies harbor their own source of innovation, they have no means of adopting the innovations of other currencies which may succeed them. We aim to remedy the po- tential for atrophied evolution in the crypto-currency space by presenting Tezos, a generic and self-amending crypto-ledger. Tezos can instanciate any blockchain based protocol. Its seed protocol species a procedure for stakeholders to approve amendments to the proto- col, including amendments to the amendment procedure itself. Upgrades to Tezos are staged through a testing environment to allow stakeholders to recall potentially problematic amendments. The philosophy of Tezos is inspired by Peter Suber's Nomic[1], a game built around a fully introspective set of rules. In this paper, we hope to elucidate the potential benets of Tezos, our choice to implement as a proof-of-stake system, and our choice to write it in OCaml.

I have read that tezos is currently in a lawsuit because the founders were fighting about the raised money already. As well as some people from the team who left the project already. Dont take my words for it but that is how I interpreted their story

You can't because the tezos developer already added an agreement about to consider your money as a charity will better for you to read the agreement before try to invest in something like tezos. Please this time tezos in a serious battle with the government. You will never get your money back until the developer will try to give you tezos token. Those are hyping this shit project got fucked up by the developers.

TEZOS ICO..

To all who hold an ICO you need to hear this ..

When people go to work they earn money ..
Now some people work very very hard for their monies and what some people done was work very very hard and then DONATED so the next peoples could work very very hard  ..

So my point is when people donated they had to work hard to get that money so the people that
DONATED they give you their hard labour in return you keep to your part of the deal in the DONATION
and then you work hard and then everything all fits together..

So 1 hard work which got you the TEZOS funds = Your hard work to make TEZOS a winner..
Now if people from the start never worked hard the TEZOS wouldn't have any funds ..

So 20th January more coders coding things that will go on the platform partnerships things of that calibre..
Many things that can be done while others code the main net tezos platform ..

people who donated their hard work = You got all the hard work money so you do your hard work..
