Get your investment out asap, looks like there will be more skipping than just on bets.

AGAIN, uuughh. Not a great time to complain, but I have to. Deposited 0.04, got up to 0.065 and was happy. I really wanted to withdraw, but couldn't, so I invested 0.06, knowing I'd lose if I kept it in, and kept 0.005 in to play with until it confirms. Guess what, I lost the 0.005, rage deposit, boom my balance is gone.

Someone refund me to convince me to keep playing here.

Were you affected by the skipped nonce issue or not? Verify your bets if you're unsure.

My concern is that after investing for over three weeks, and seeing the site profit more than triple during that time, my investment lost 4.5%.  For whatever reason the investment just didn't work for me even when the site was very profitable.

What I suspect happens is something like this:

1. Profit goes up
2. DB take commission.  Reduces personal profit.
3. Players then get lucky and profit dips, pushing personal investment profit negative

Rinse, repeat.  The other problem is investors really should keep plowing more money into the bankroll otherwise their investment gets diluted by other investors.

Interesting.  The bankroll has started to rise in the last half hour or so.  Investors must feel that within the last 14 hours the entire issue has been detected and fully resolved, and that there are no more surprises to be found.

The entire issue has been detected and fully resolved. Fully addressed maybe not yet, but fully resolved yes.

As you have detected and fixed this fraud perpetrated by someone you know, are you going to report that person to the police in your jurisdiction, or the jurisdiction where the alleged fraudster resides?  This may seem like a rhetorical question as I bet your site is unlicensed and therefore you would be complaining about fraud at an illegal business, but it does raise the question of what can be done about thieves that backdoor the site and seemingly can escape without any risk of penalty?

Sorry but as this forum loves to say "Bitcoin can't be enforced by the police or government"

You going to tell them that your imaginary money, not recognized by the U.S. government, was taken by some guy online?

I might as well report someone stealing my runescape gold then, sorry.

Indeed, that is true.  We can't have it both ways by seeking regulation and protection while using a commodity that sits outside of government.  There are still some exceptions, such as PirateAt40's theft and his argument that nothing of value was stolen because bitcoins are l0lz buckz.  That was shot down by a US court.

That gets down to the very crux of the matter: the only thing bitcoin has and the businesses that choose to use it is trust.  Once the trust is gone there is virtually no way to get it back again.  It blows my mind how stupid the alleged rogue developer at DB could be.  Here is a business that mathematically cannot lose money over the long term, yet code changes were made that would certainly eventually be found and ruin the whole party for the thief.  The code was active all of what, maybe 15 days?  The potential profit for the thief was much greater if they had just left the 1% house edge in place.

I checked my rolls and they weren't affected by the bug, I guess they target the whales. But was it really a bug? How easy it is for the site owners to scam and make a lot of money and then blame it either on Code or Hackers or an Employee. Seems convenient.

again, i want to caution everyone to divest and withdraw their coins.  I personally have objections with the way the site has handled the "refunds" (you can hardly call it that).

For those of you just tuning in, the site got caught for introducing malicious code that skipped winning bets.  If this affected you, the only way you could win a bet is if you had a consecutive winning roll as the code was only set to skip one nonce at max.

I don't know if whether Manl's accounts are true.  As he has explained, it was a recent hired new employee that introduced the code.  I will allow everyone to make their own decisions with the facts that have been presented.

Best thing is to make sure your coins are safe and to check all your bets for consecutive nonces and that none were skipped.

This is not true tho.  As forcing a change in the server seed whilst not changing your client seed will allow the operators to check which server seed would provide a favorable outcome for the house.  this was a problem with some sites out there, notably, the original PD.

Yeah true, so the client seed must change too. and that wont be feasible. So provable fair doesn't work in any configuration I can think of. Unless the client batch confirms?
I don't know. The entire industry of bitcoin gambling is shady with people hiding behind internet names like "manl". Why don't people trust others on ebay, but they trust some unknown in the bitcoin world?

Its true that prc changed there users seeds without telling them!!sneaky

About the Mateo story:
What if Mateo is someone who wants to make DB guilty? He won some BTC and now people think DB is using the seeds. Mission completed.

I'm just saying.

This was changed once it was brought up to the owner of PRC.  It now handles dice the same as how JD handled dice.

Would a massive site wide roll back work in this scenario?

No i don't think so.  Most of the bankroll has vanished off the site.  You would need the site to be at EXACTLY the same initial state in order for a rollback to be successful.

I lost 2.6 btc and cannot verify the bets. With such lax security how do we know this didn't go further back?

Most of my losing bets from the 21st of August are missing from my bet history.

Edit, the first two losses on the 21st are there. After that the history skips to the 27th and the nonce goes to zero. If you look at my profit/losses the numbers do not add up at all with the bet history. Why would a bunch of bets go missing from my history when I lost the 2.6 bit coins?

If you can't verify these missing bets I would like my 2.6 coins back. 2.6 might not be a lot to most people but it is to me.

Just to set the record straight: it was players who lost coins. Investors actually gained coins, at least until mateo recently whaled some off.

Negative feedback was left by Stunna of PrimeDice.

Read the last few pages and make up your mind.

All I can say is that - IMHO - this fiasco was not handled appropriately.
