There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

For once I think I will actually say 'thanks for the cheap coins', as much as a cliche that is.

Looking forward to my mind being blown tomorrow.

So something very unfortunate happened. I got into Crypto a little before Boom dropped, and mined it to begin with. I only had my Boom QT as an offline wallet, and I guess didn't know much about how they worked. I had 55k Boom in it, and had pushed the price off 500sat, and then again from 1200sat stagnation up too 2ksat.

I transferred my coins to stake, and then had major permissions issues on my machine where it wouldn't start up. I got home from work late, and tried to make it work, when it wouldn't I started it in target disk mode, and copied my boom wallet qt, but didn't go to application support and get the wallet.dat. After copying the few new things since my last backup in July I zeroed the HD as I always do when these errors come up in order to get rid of them. I have my wallet address, and know my encryption code, but as far as I can tell even with this my wallet is totally unrecoverable.

I would appreciate any help, if anyone knows a way to recover my private key, or recreate my wallet.dat. I tried data recovery, and the directory backup let me attempt to grab the wallet.dat but it was corrupted and only13kb when it should be 130kb. I assume I just lose the BTC I put into the coin, since I believe unless the whole block chain rolled back theres no way to reverse the deposit out of bittrex. Any ideas Boomdev or community would be awesome, but I think Im just screwed.

Old address:B2raRAUdoN7VvgmmFHUevXBaQz1KrZpD7w Which I guess can just be a burn address for anyone wanting too with any of there BOOM, unless there is a way to fix this.

New address:An1nBkMKksjMGrkQ32WYZKLKLmTT5BjeY8 Bought another 10k Boom at a way higher price then before, but at least I bumped it from 4.5Ksat too 5.5K

Just removed all my sell orders under 10k satoshi.. I just realized that the devs that are working on this project barely released update's for 2 months.. They must have worked on something very big. Realizing that tomorrow everything will be released.

Offcourse i don't know what the update of tomorrow will contain, but i do know, based on experience in the altcoin market, that we could easily get a market cap of $4million, price 100k+. But yes, this would be a long ride.

hey you should definitely shoot one of the devs a pm, they are really experienced developers and I'm sure they will be the ones to help you out if possible, if even they can't help you with this then you might have to accept the fact that you lost those boom coins

My sentiments exactly. I think this could be one of those rare gems in crypto that goes parabolic!

All of my coins are staking and will not be seeing an exchange for weeks. I did not wait two months to quit just before success!

Hey guys instead of communicating here, please come to IRC channel. It's been almost empty since the beginning. We need some life here Smiley. Especially now. Feel free to join and discuss.

You probably want to hold for more than that. I read the whitepaper, and I expect that the demand and volume for Boom will really go up, A LOT, in 1st quarter 2015. I can't tell you the details but you'll see for yourself tomorrow.

Try using different recovery utilities as they don't necessarily work the same way and try not to write anything to that disk at all.

Not your keys, not your coins!

Welcome back to page 1 of Trex!

Yup very nice volume, BOOM is looking better than ever and this is only the beginning  Grin The team hasn't even made any official announcements yet.
Still time to buy people, you'll get a lot less BOOM for your buck once we pass the 10k sat bar  Wink
