i too just switched to solo mining,

  i thought you used to see a deadline while solo mining? what happened to it?

i didn't see any wrong with it,., it is normal, the deadline only show when prepared to submit shares, then will show the deadline, and this deadline determined whether you will get the block

okay. so there is really never a change in the scrolling screen.. for multiple computers if i dont set a static or im on a different network i need to be running the wallet on the local host right?

and what happens when you find a block? 10k poof into your wallet or anything on the screen?
1.you can change the conf/nxt.defaultp... add the ip you want to connet to your wallet,  nxt.allowedBotHosts,nxt.apiServerHost or what ever, i didn't try it, they told me at first, i remember these two place, you can search the post of dev.. this can makes you open one wallet and all of your miners share it
2. when you submit the share, you will see the deadline, one block will submit once, it will take several minutes, becuase every block is 4 minutes.you won't see any info when you get the block, the only thing is deadline, if your deadline is arroud 240, then you should have found a block, (this may not accurate, because some one may have less deadline, then the block is his, the lowest deadline owner will get the block)
3. the award should not be the 10k now, because it has passed one month, and the award decreased the 5%, should 9500 now

what makes someone have a lower deadline than someone else?  each one of my 1tb harddrives look like they all have the same deadline ( running over a dozen instances)
if all your miners shares the same deadline, you must check your plots, they may overlap and these plots are the same, every nouce have different info, the miner scan all your plots and choose the smallest deadline to the sever, deadline means you can get the block within this times, for excample, if your deadline is 240 that means 4 minutes later you will get the block, but at this time, other's deadline is 3 minute, he will found the block eariler then you, the deadline is just your luck, not determined by the size of your plots, if you are luck, you can still get the block with 1MB, every nounce has a deadline, then will choose a nounce with the least deadline,with more nounce, you have more chance, it is the same as lottery

ok no over lap when i said that they just all looked the same ya kow ~200,000 more or less. i was assuming with more TB the deadline would get lower. thank you for your explanation

is there fireworks or anything that show up when you get the block Smiley or do i just check my wallet from time to time

hey guys, I tried the GPU plotter but GPU driver crashes every time it starts plotting Sad

second thing, I've noticed kinda big amount of data being transfered while plotting/mining burst. It can download even about 500MB per day, while mining other coins it was about 10MB/day. It might put me out from burst train to the moon, because I have limited data transfer:(
Does it download data only while plotting or while mining?
Try with different version of catalyst software. There are still different version of gpu to be tested but my mate successfully plotting with 290x twin frozer x10 times faster than his i7 processor. If you gpu is same model, pm for specs   Wink

I tried on 2x 7950 and the driver was crashing. Then I tried on another pc with single 7950 and it doesn't even start to plot, it crashes after 'Building OpenCL program'.
what catalyst version does your mate have? I'm pretty sure I have the newest drivers.

Supposedly they are on 13.9. I just did a clean uninstall and installing 13.9 on a HD7970.

Are you on Win7 or Win8.1 SpeedDemon?

And its not like I bought the 5960X for plotting ;p

I wish I owned a 5960X...lfmao....

I'm running Win8.1 64-bit....

Wouldn't it be possible to mine on multiple v2 pools at once... by listing your local address followed by each pool link like this:

java -cp pocminer_pool.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer_pool.POCMiner mine myhost:port pool1:port pool2:port

I will NEVER ask for any kind of funds up front in a buy/sale of anything on bitcointalk.

Haven't found a driver that works for me yet.   (R9 290x) Tried various 14.x and 13.9.  Tried with and without APP SDK in each instance.  Every time the final line in cmd is Building OpenCL program and then the .exe crashes.

Tbh I've kinda given up, I've been on this for most of the day now with no success and I'm left thinking that I'm not going to land on the right avenue.

Going to wait and see what the next version brings.

Try 13.12 Drivers.  Worked for my 290x.  I used 4000 for my stagger as my system RAM is weak and 256 for my threads using the 290x.

Guys, someone made a forum just for us. Why don't we start moving discussions there where they can be split by categories.
http://burstforum.com
Instead of just flooding one single thread, we can flood an entire forum Smiley
Just kidding.
The idea is that it will be easier to follow since all the problems will be in the support area, announcements in announcements and so on. People would find things a lot easier.

I keep getting this error now when I issue the "make" command:
Quote
Linking [bin/gpuPlotGenerator.exe]
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lopencl
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [bin/gpuPlotGenerator.exe] Error 1

I've tried Googling the error and see that a bunch of posts on the issue, but can't seem to correct this "/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lopencl" error. Any suggestions?

The correction for that particular error is to use "-lOpenCL" instead (assuming you've installed opencl with "sudo apt-get install ocl-icd-libopencl1" first.)

However, I found the makefile is incompatible with linux.  It may work better if you change the "CC"s to "C++", but I haven't tried.  I did get it to compile with the single command

Code:
g++ -ansi -pedantic -W -Wall -std=c++0x gpuPlotGenerator.cpp -lOpenCL

I also had to do "( cd kernel && ln -s ../nonce.cl )", since it seems to expect to find the file there (In my version, it's in the root dir.)  Then the command "./gpuPlotGenerator ./plots/ 0 10 10 10 10" ran without errors (on an NVIDIA GTX Black.)

Edit: However, when I try something more substantial, like a stagger size of 64 and a thread num of 64, I get ">>> [-5] Error in synchronous read".  -5 is out of resources.

Edit 2:  Following the advice here, I added

Code:
error = clFinish(commandQueue);
if (error != CL_SUCCESS) {
 throw opencl_error(error, "Error after running kernel");
}

in between the clEnqueueNDRangeKernel and clEnqueueReadBuffer calls.  I get error -36, "invalid command queue", which apparently can still mean insufficient resources.  A titan black is pretty beefy, though.

I ran what you suggested:
Quote
sudo apt-get install ocl-icd-libopencl1

But I think what got me past the error was the changing of "-lopencl" to "-lOpenCL" (Dang Linux and being case sensitive!). After this, I finally got "make" to work!

I'm not linux-y, so I don't know what running this command does:
Code:
cd kernel && ln -s ../nonce.cl

It appears to change directory into the kernel folder (assuming you are already in the root of the gpu plotter folder). The second part of the command... this creates a link somewhere?? I run that command and I get this:
Quote
ln: failed to create symbolic link ‘./nonce.cl’: File exists

I tried running the gpu plot generator anyways, and I get this:

HD6950 2GB and HD6970 don't work with the gpu plotter, even on 13.9 with APP SDK 2.9.1. It freezes and probably because of the architecture isn't GCN/compute based like the 7xxx's and R series AMD's. I tried to even use 512 stagger size and 8 threads as the lowest settings. So, no go at the moment with VLIW cards at the moment. This might work on the 750/750ti, just an assumption.

I didnt change anything for the new plots im generating on the new 2 drives.  Are you saying the nonces will be same as the first drive I created them on all doing the same thing? Doesn't sound right.....  Maybe if I used one instance miner per drive right?

Can you let me know which version you downloaded, so I know we're talking about the same thing?

The "cd" command lets the program find the kernel code where it expects to.  You could probably also change "loadSource("kernel/nonce.cl")" in the .cpp file to the correct relative path for nonce.cl.
