Just changed the block confirmation to 520. Everything should work now in http://104.207.149.217.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Yes, my wallet is synchronized (now at block 1448285). Using the only 1 node in conf file (104.128.225.215 - rest comented), I have 16 connections. On the other hand, network weight is very small ~2600. Is probably ok... I don't know what to believe  Grin

Same for my wallet. Working fine. Looks like chain needs to become stronger again!

Using only one guarantee node to save chain make chain more weakly. This node also can spread and will spread wrong blocks. Now attacker can concentrate efforts in only one node.
Please do not cherish illusions.

Joe, all my coins go into stake, is this because of the 500 confirmations which takes a longer
(maybe too long) staking time.

Nice, I've updated https://poolinfo.systms.org and made a fresh copy of the chain for users to download.

Hello Magi community!

I love the community behind this coin... although most of this "basic" coding is above my head I have been trying to sync the wallet.

As I'm reading, its obvious updates are coming out often.  I tested out the Magi Core version v1.3.1.0 (64-bit) and it is not synced, as i've been reading we should do some changes with the coding?  I put that on the back burner for a few days after I sent a few coins to the wallet from bitter to test the wallet.  Of course they haven't shown up because its far behind on the chain.

Will downloading the newest wallet help me with this matter?

Should a noob such as me wait for some time until the wallet becomes better suited for someone as remedial as myself?  Cheesy

Kind regards!

Is proof of stake not working at the moment? My wallet's resync'd and unlocked and set for staking yet it says "Not staking"

until everything is resolved ill stick with solo mining just to support the coin. I dont think i would get any coins in the short term but id rather do solo than use a pool and see the coins i earned wiped away. At least i dont have anyone to blame with solo mining but myself.

Thanks i actually got it running a few hrs ago with a lot of searching involved. But still figuring out how to add more miners to a single wallet without adding the ip for each one...

You can enable different IP by having in magi.conf

Code:
rpcallowip=ip

yup i figured it out an hour ago but most of my devices have dynamic ip so i have to add it manually each time and restart the wallet. I also mine with lots of slow devices including my old phones so it is kinda a pain. I read in some forum to add 192.168.1.0 but it doesnt work for me. And thanks for taking the time to reply Joe i know your quite busy right now. Hopefully you can fix this soon. Im still betting on introducing XMG to people in my location as a starting coin. It has both POW and POS so it will be easy for them to experience both in work.

my conf file
# RPC connection from localhost allowed
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.1.0
rpcallowip=192.168.1.1
rpcallowip=192.168.1.115
rpcallowip=192.168.1.112
rpcallowip=192.168.1.232
rpcallowip=192.168.1.125

it still gonna grow after i add some more of our devices but will need to make the ip static...

You can enable different IP by having in magi.conf:
rpcallowip=192.168.*.*

On PC running the wallet, the ip address has to be static.

thanks didnt think of that... awesome ill try it later. =)

I am seeing this over and over now

(1.4.1.1 win64 wallet)

receive version message: version 71061, blocks=1448374, us=
them=104.128.225.215:8233, peer=104.128.225.215:8233
received block 0000000050cb568bb875
ProcessBlock: ORPHAN BLOCK, prev=9319294f898ab8de556d
received block 9319294f898ab8de556d
Misbehaving: 104.128.225.215:8233 (0 -> 100) DISCONNECTING
disconnecting node 104.128.225.215:8233
ERROR: ProcessBlock() : block with too little proof-of-stake

This is the node that was supposed to be on the more or less right chain...

So it won't sync, because it keeps disconnecting it's only peer...hmm

Edit: Resyncing from 0 on the assumption it is calculating the stake weight from orphan/bad earlier blocks maybe..
Edit2: yep, that fixed it
