I am waiting confirmation to use 9B7FVaBnccDNLu5LbBvsWkRqHmKDVGzejU address for donations.

Vitalik, since your feeling generous,  here is my address.  Since all the pools seem to be closing down, now I wont be making anything.

Hi,

just as short information - we don't plan to close our pool. Just fighting with the current "known issues" which causes several issues on our side.

We already do some automatic issue detection to keep downtimes low. But this is not working in every case due to the reason that crypto stuff is a complex thing.

Don't panic - besides Magi we're also just humans with a fulltime job.  Smiley

Okay, so dumb question... If I ever thought https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/ was giving invalid information, would there be a way to easily view the blockchain of my wallet? I mean, if I'm going to download over a gigabyte of data every time I want to refresh Windows, I should at least be able to view it somehow...

(And yes, I know. I could just backup my wallet.dat, blocks and database folders to another drive, but I'm far too lazy for that. If you apply a liberal amount of Vitalik logic to it, it'll make sense.)

Here are some wallet addresses I suspect are his:
9LvDoEhev9aVgskEQNrqgnXTQVb6rnaP1m <= His main wallet address
9P3T9LdgYbTnL93n2sWoJzmAtb9nhoZRNc
9SF4424pdanxQuA46XceLMjhzD3BC9Ur15
9CeLMY7PsP9vHymcz5LFnbzv3SXmsfs8fw
9CW7VX7MLcnWvpT51fH6pqhFhjdJzkVsDM
9GEPqShAPecVZzeva8VGYb2ZyTE4PZ5Hb1

The first block you listed appears to be someone sending themselves 15.0 XMG to refresh the age of the coins for PoS, and Vitalik's main wallet sending 472.67172981 XMG to Bittrex for sale on their market.

The second block appears to be one of Vitalik's secondary wallets used to attack with, suggested by the 184 deposits of exactly 40.21785 XMG in a row to 96SSuc36pPAfA6dna45vHuTDMnP7Y9ejsB.

The third block appears to the same deal, except it's to 9SF4424pdanxQuA46XceLMjhzD3BC9Ur15, which is also doing normal, non-attack mining as well.

The fourth block appears to be to a relatively-new wallet (9BHwEr4jyJfMyLCt7huqw1LmxHEqoGhate), but bears much of the same traits of the blocks listed above.

The fifth block comes from 9SBESJHi8W94BYpARocDTjvpMpCCBVL3Ak, which has a heterogeneous mixture of attack transactions (suggested by the small sections of 40.21785 XMG transactions throughout).

The last block appears to be a direct deposit of 40.21785 XMG to his main wallet as a result of his attack.

Edit: I am in the process of uploading a snapshot of the blockchain for anyone who needs it, and removing my 25/04/2018 snapshot.

a video if you like to understand the attack
https://youtu.be/9dPeMXr23i4?t=1h11m23s

this make sense

so the main issue is weak legit hashpower compared to
hostile hashpower

as long as u dont fix that this attack vector will stay valid

remove POW issue is fixed

plain and simple

fuck traditions if they are bad

Very large hashing power is (I think) a required part of his attack, but it's not the whole thing. He is exploiting a weakness in the code which is specific to Magi. I have no idea what that weakness is, but I suspect Joe does. Relax, it will be fixed.

POS only? That creates a different problem. People with large amount of Magi will be getting big rewards, those with very little will be basically getting nothing. That's hardly fair either, is it? Also remember that POS coins CAN be attacked.
