Hi everyone. New to mining this coin. Just a few questions.
I am mining on xmg.maxminers.net using "Sweet spot" magi miner. I was seeing great reviews for this being a profitable coin, but the pool is showing my best cpu (amd FX-6300) at only 2khash/sec. Its showing me at an estimated .21xmg/day with my 4 workers. Is there a trick i need to know? should i set each worker to its own account or something?

This is energy saving miner.

Try Wolf0 miner. It is the fastest for now.

http://coinmagi.org/files/magi-miner/wolf-m7m-cpuminer-V2/

syntax for this?

minerd-x64-ivybridge -o stratum+tcp://xmg.suprnova.cc:7128 -u user -p pass -t 4

Use minerd.exe file  according to your cpu.
Use -t according how much threads you want.

thanks. up and running. any place i can look up what other people are getting? My fx-6300 is now reporting in the 30khash range, just curious if that is the peak or if there are thread settings i can change

I have a similar-ish processor (FX-8350) and I'd assume you'd be hitting 40+ kH/s. (I usually hit 70 kH/s with 8 cores at 4.0 GHz, and 70kH/s*(6cores/8cores)*(3.5Ghz/4Ghz) ~ 45kH/s ). That depends on how much you're loading your CPU with non-mining-related stuff, too, though - this is a reference point for dedicated mining.

As for running windowless, you might be able to compile with the -mwindows flag to get rid of the command line. If you're running Windows. I've never tested it on a program without a GUI, though. And I've never had reason to use it on a Linux compile. But it's worth a shot, eh?

Edit: units+clarity

The interest is not that much regarding the current price, but I don't think should go for high interest one; let me know if the issue is about something else.

Remember, we are the first PoS-II, much better than PoS 2.0 or whatever, with the best PoS security by far.

Also no multipool dumping, no staking pools, both are unlikely.

No~~~ 2kh is too little with FX-6300... You must try to use latest miner.

You already got a very succinct rundown of the situation here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg10603147#msg10603147. My only extra input is that you might be able to recover your wallet.dat with file recovery software, even if you did format your drive. (Very incomplete list here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_data_recovery_software#File_recovery)

Also, to put it in perspective if you did lose your earnings... at least it's only $1.60 at the current exchange rate. It definitely sucks, but $1.60 is pretty cheap for losing a wallet and learning a lesson.

Use a vbs script to start the bat without a window, you can even put it in the startup folder.

Quote
Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
WshShell.Run "cmd /c cd C:\Windows\Miner\ & start.bat", 0

replace path and .bat name and save it as .vbs

I already told you not to worry! I will give you the coins from my  personall wallet. I just want to give the coders time to respond on this. Maybe I can also learn something about that. Lots of people are on holidays. Just make sure you always make a wallet backup on external memory.

Nice! Today I will post the voting-topic for the slogan contest! I will also post a link for that one in here!
When the voting-topic is ready the slogan give-away/contest will be finished.
So you still can make a nice slogan at the moment.
