The article is very nice. Thanks. On this now Since we mentioned complex, this seems to be one of the issues that XMG is facing and one of the main problems that are hurting the coin – there is so much information and things happening about the coin all of the time that it is hard to keep a track on all things for a lot of users. We have to work on this. There are rewards available for people who can help with making some good guides like easy mining-guides. Maybe a nice little page with timeline on what to come and what to expect in the future would help with that? Thinking of a vertical line here with different things going on and when the page loads you get down to the current date, but can scroll up for a history timeline.

[Update 2] MagiPay - standalone payment gateway for Coin MagiPrior updates: [Update 0] Initial announcement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg9731619#msg9731619[Update 1] Tests: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg10039030#msg10039030Little warm upFormal launch: March 6, 12:00 PM Friday noon EST time.I know we're very late; it's been a long waiting. I know you guys have waited for this again and again, I know, I know, the time I can invest into is rather limited especially most recently. How does it work- A merchant creates an account at m-epays.com after successful registration one can create a payment box.
- m-epays.com issues MagiPay account details.
- Integrate MagiPay to merchant's website.
- Customer clicks the 'Pay with magi' button, MagiPay connects to m-epays.com server and requests for a specific payment box.
- m-epays.com issues a MagiPay address and the total amount to be paid.
- Customer sends coins to the MagiPay address.
- Once the payment is received and confirmed, the server informs the successful payment.
- Upon confirmation of the payment, the server automatically transfer the amount of magi to merchant's registered external wallet address.
Merchant Bannerhttps://mega.co.nz/#!mJJUFSxT!kbJQJn50FeePaKXuUcIVAblDQ2W4UDGpT3nTF2XMYwEMerchant toolsWe're still looking into the WooCommerce wordpress option for easy integration, hopefully available at the launch. The following method is available for now by integrating php codes: https://github.com/magi-project/magipay-merchant1. Register on https://www.m-epays.com; 2. Create payment box once login; 3. Relevant parameters generated at the time when payment box is created will be used in the php codes; 4. The php codes need to be placed appropriately at the site to enable the "pay by Coin Magi" option. Detail documentation will be done at the launch along with refined website, and more details of merchant information will be given. Can't wait to see this in action. Are you going to have an http rest API for pulling out data like total amount used on magi pay?

one more question- any switch i can add on to make minerd be windowless, like as a process rather than a task?
Use a vbs script to start the bat without a window, you can even put it in the startup folder. Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") WshShell.Run "cmd /c cd C:\Windows\Miner\ & start.bat", 0 replace path and .bat name and save it as .vbs Another way else VBS, you can try Sweet Spot from http://xmg.makejar.com. Sweet Spot Magi Miner is able: - to hide the miner window so it will not waste your taskbar space.
- to hide itself into the system tray while running.
- to start the miner at LOW priority so the miner will not slow down your work.
- to check the current Network Hashrate and control the miner CPU usage targeting the Sweet Spot 22MH/s the Hash Rate you choose.
- to check the current Block Value and control the miner CPU usage targeting 12+XMG/Block the Block Value you choose.

Having been offline for a time, I have a lot of catching up to do on this thread. Two things to reply to posts on the (current) last page are that:- 1) I will be writing a comprehensive guide for XMG mining on Windows. 2) I will be releasing a new XMG mining suite for Windows in due course and this will include the option to run the miner windowless (along with a desktop icon to stop the windowless miner, which might otherwise be a bit of a problem). I have just put together a new mining rig. We are talking AMD 9590. The speed of this CPU is staggering. The heat from this CPU is staggering. I have already overclocked it to just over 5200 MHz which gives 122 Kh/s with the XMG miner under Windows 8.1 but I can't maintain a safe core temperature at this speed even with a massive water cooler and fans running max rpm. Anybody got any liquid Nitrogen that I can play with? This new rig has been named "Wolf" in honor. Thanks man.

As I said, there is extra bounties for mining guide video, let's keep the reward for this purpose, while this is not big concern though, I believe people know how to mine by reading the mining section in OP.

If you sent in a video which satisfies the conditions (read contest text) you will receive 100 XMG. For clarity, the video must meet the conditions and needs to be taken seriously in order to make a beautiful video for Magi (XMG) If this is not the case you will not receive the 100 XMG. This reward will be paid once per person. Remember to sent in your Magi video and receive 100 XMG. And have a chance to win the 2000 XMG! Think you are good with making video's. Show us what you can do! 2000 XMG for best video. 1500 XMG for second best video. 750 XMG for third best video. Bonus for the best video + 1000 XMG !!! So now the reward for Best video is 3000 XMG!! Thanks for that!

I was thinking... about that "wasted pow" power and using hashing for useful purposes.
By using GMP, XMG is possibly positioning itself to be a promoter for performance research which would translate to real world uses. Leaving aside I have been told big number crunching is already possible in Cuda (unclear if also on GPU), how would you react on knowing your fav coin is promoting development of hi-precision libraries?

Just spent several hours to set up a new pool with 1% fee and PROP payout. Please register at http://104.207.149.217/index.php?page=registerTest script: ./minerd -a m7mhash -o stratum+tcp://104.207.149.217:3333 -u test.test -p x See "Help -- Getting Started" for details. Please transfer some hash power to the pool. Also, please note I will disconnect the old free pool in one/two days. Thanks. Big thanks for Joe's support! Update: Add a domain for the pool for easy access: xmgpool.cf

What exactly are the performance research you mentioned, and hi-precision libraries?
If we look for at how "hash" is computed, we can see many functions mpf_something. Those come from the high-precision library GMP. Hi-precision is critical to many applications in scientific computing. Google leads to several documents about this. I cannot quite tell if those can work as a drop-in replacement for GMP but it's quite obvious there's a lot of research going into some GMP-like GPU-accelerated processing (mostly cuda, as standard in high performance computing). So we can say that Magi, by leaving the realm of pure cryptography, is fostering competition in something that has real world value.

So we can say that Magi, by leaving the realm of pure cryptography, is fostering competition in something that has real world value. Interesting stuff. There is one drop-in replacement available for GMP to my certain knowledge. This is MPIR and you can bet your life that I have had a good play around with it. I have several versions of minerd.exe compiled with this library and I can tell you that the best of these runs at only 60% of the speed of the minerd.exe compiled with (my customized version of) GMP. After all the effort required to get MPIR compiled and installed, it was a terrible disappointment. As for a CUDA miner for XMG, well I suspect (no proof whatsoever) that there has been one around for ages now but nobody has published it openly. It must surely be possible, though not necessarily easy.

I have updated the list of mining pools used by my XMG mining software package. If you are already using this software, run C:\XMGminer\Setup.bat and select "Download latest list of XMG Magi mining pools" from the drop-down menu. This will do exactly what it says on the tin. After the download has completed, select "Proceed with setup" from the drop-down menu to enter the required details to get up and running. Remember to register on XMGpool and set up your worker(s) first !!! See you there

It must surely be possible, though not necessarily easy. Well, I can sustain your suspect as one of my contacts (who I know works in a company which pays its employees to get multiple degrees) claimed to be able to port everything in "a few days" but also that "our usual contracts are just way more profitable" so hopefully its impact is small.
