an additional step that you can consider taking, that many people do for backup purposes, is recording your private key somewhere.  I keep mine in a notebook written in pen.  You can use that key to recover your coins if you somehow manage to lose your actual wallet.dat file.  It is just another layer of security and occasionally taking the time to record it can mean the difference between recovering your coins and not.

Sorry for your loss and don't feel too bad, I think most everyone learns the hard way about backups at some point.

Thanks for your helpful advice. Writing down the private key in a paper somewhere would manage to prove as an effective way to safe keep your coins in case something unexpected happens like data corruption and storage failures. I have a physical portfolio where I stored paper wallets for all the cryptocurrencies that I have invested in. Now I will add the XMG paper wallet to it for future preservation.  Smiley

It would be cool if the hashrate would be shared amongst the pool. Currently, it's still 2 pools with the majority of the total hashrate

I am quite not sure but I have tested SweetSpot miner and tried the one called XMGPoolMiner and so far, it has worked faster than sweetspot (at least for me) in an old AMD Turion 64 bit CPU. The difference between sweetspot and XMGPoolMiner is not much, but I usually prefer XMGPoolMiner due to the easy setup process.  Grin

It' up now. Yesterday had som problems with connect to coin daemon. Most of the yesterday I tried to fix it by looking in conf files for the pool and coin and a lot more, but it turn out that it was a configuration issue in network configuration. I had put a 0 to much in a file. That shows that nothing can do a lot of trouble.

I have also found my first block and everything worked fine. Grin

Staking results in almost 3.5%  a year.
Meaning: staking of 1000 XMG, results in 35 XMG per year,
almost 1/10 XMG every day.

Hi!
Can the DEV share complete wallet in newest version? Published binaries containts only qt executable and miss other binaries that are important for many of us.
Thx

up
Dev noticed your question and will get back on it later amigo!

Hi!
What is the planned date for the release of the complete wallet?
Joe will answer this question!

OK, but when?

Ow think hè missed this one.
I will contact him about this.
Sorry for the delay!

hi! please do not forget. thx.
He amigo,

Magi had a meeting yesterday. Joe will work on a new wallet with more improvements.
It will take time. (because of his new Job and moving to another place)
In the mean time there will be a temporary new wallet what will be faster.
Hope that one will not take much time for launching.

OK. Two questions:
- when this new it will be delivered?
- whether new wallet (doesn't matter temporary or not) will deliver all binaries compiled?
