Just remind everyone about the epic PoS return they can get and how cheap the coins are at the moment  Grin
that's right so taking advantage of this current situation with btc rally will really allow us to hold more and more cheap magi and those who make a panic will cry out loud after the coin regain its value is seen bigger picture in the long run, so while waiting better to open my wallet and keep it store and stake to earn even more from pos service.
Yep, trying to stick to my strategy which is helping the accumulation process - but didn't keep the current BTC trend into account when setting up a range trade so accumulated some at a price that was too high last week.

(Speculation here) I think the price will drop a little more and rebound sharply when the BTC price drops, or a steady rebound if the BTC price holds. If the BTC keeps rising, I think XMG will find a price level where eventually it follows the BTC trend.
Not a bad speculation. I thought the same!

This would be very nice!

This happened before when the price dropped down around 1800 and there was a bullish BTC period - after that point XMG stayed in range trading and was not affected by BTC price for quite a while.

Btc back under $700
The speculators think it will retrace back to around $650, time to get hold of some cheap magi before the price goes back up - unfortunately, I spent my spare funds on some cheap DOGE. I'll have to see if I can squeeze things around to buy more at 3400 =)

Found some really unrealistic buy orders on another coin, cancelled them and managed to get hold of a nice amount of Magi =D Lets see where the BTC retrace goes (I was expecting BTC to rise further for a longer period before falling back) - good to see that Magi is not as fast to react as some of the other coins - I already missed out on cheap ETH and LSK =D

Transferring my newly acquired stack of Magi off to Bittrex, to help out a little more on there - there still isn't quite enough liquidity on that market yet for my liking. The next step for me will be to help populate the new exchange with some realistic orders.

Great - It'll take a few more weeks (or another large drop in price) for me to acquire enough magi to help out in any meaningful way on there

I was expected a large rise or fall on XMG today, but instead we are getting a consolidation phase. I should learn to always expect the unexpected. LOL

I'm curious, on what basis were you expecting to see a large rise or fall?

(Note: This is my very amateurish analysis)

I was expecting to see a large price change mostly due to the reversal of the BTC price and it being close to the weekend (when there is often a movement on Magi), couple that with the stalling of the price over the last couple of days (sometimes that is a signal of change) and the buy/sell walls being pretty wide I was expecting some momentum, either upwards due to a back towards the 4500 levels (as bitcoin has devalued) or a downwards shift towards the 3000 levels (if the BTC price were to shift back or there was a bit of a sell off) A lot of the other coins I've been trading with caught momentum on the BTC retrace yesterday, I thought XMG might catch up today.

hmm interesting, I guess I view alt-currencies as having their values pegged to BTC rather than being separate. You're right of course that changes in the BTC price are reflected in altcoins.

Thanks for your insight, I dabble a bit in trading but am far from an expert so it's always good to get someone else's insight Smiley

Alt coins are pretty peculiar - sometimes they follow USD, sometimes BTC but also have their own fluctuations. The only thing that is guaranteed is that you never really know exactly what will happen next - if we did we'd all be millionaires I guess.
