Side note,
Just noticed that the number of blocks being found has dropped off by nearly 50% in the past week.
We usually get over a thousand blocks per day. But for the past week we've been getting 600 to 500 per day.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/#!overview

a few big POS wallets where offline
there where not enough POS competition to mint all the POS blocks

which is a clear signal that POS rewards are to low to give enough incentive for POS staker run nodes and secure chain

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I made some file and put it into startup folder. Inside is:

C:\m-wallet-1.4.6.2-win\bin\64\magid.exe walletpassphrase mypassphrase 9999999 true

It autostarts, but then writes something like "error connecting to server" and exiting. What's wrong?

I made some file and put it into startup folder. Inside is:

C:\m-wallet-1.4.6.2-win\bin\64\magid.exe walletpassphrase mypassphrase 9999999 true

It autostarts, but then writes something like "error connecting to server" and exiting. What's wrong?

Not totally sure - I never managed to get the autostart working myself either - if you manage to get it working please share on here =)

Just got back from a long weekend - looks like there has been a bit of momentum on the Magi price this afternoon

Just a little, but it results directly in more traffic on bittrex, at least till tomorrow.
I guess this helps getting more attention to Magi.

Looks like somebody bought a chunk and a bit of volatility filled behind it until enough liquidity was back in place to stabilise the price

it might be best to start the wallet first, then wait a few seconds then run your unlock command.

I've noticed it can take a bit of time for the wallet to start and accept commands.

Now THAT was a long day of compiling from source...

Finally got one of the new rpi3+

Had to find a 64bit OS that supported this version of the PI3 which took hours.
once I got that installed and running I tried to copy over my pre-built cpuminer to do a few benchmarks

my Pi3+ didn't recognise the cpuminer executable as a valid file Sad

So tried to compile it from the github source...

it failed...

bit of searching and I found out that the rpi3+ has problems with the default version of gcc.

Found a script to compile a more recent gcc (8.2.0) and after starting up a swapfile and pointing the script to an external SSD I ran the script on the pi3+

...
...
...
10 HOURS LATER and quickly fitting a fan and heatsink while running to keep it from throttling!!!!

...It finally finished compiling

I grabbed a clean pull of cpuminer from github and it finally compiled with no errors!!...

I'm off to bed now as it's nearly 3am and I'm very tired...

What do you want to discuss there? here and so little activity.
If the value of the coin is adolescent by the new year, I think we will see an increase in activity

How old do you think a coin must be before getting adolescent?
Magi is already an old coin.

I think that the coins that appeared before 2017 can be considered old. and MAGI is an old coin. XMG has got a really nice community.

IMO any forum for Magi is good- and I think there are a lot of Russian speakers out there using Magi - hopefully there will be some progress

I think there is also a Russian translation thread on here too, maybe you could also post your link to there - I can't find it though (my search powers are not so good outside English)

Internet Data costs me $5/GB.

Once everyone has recovered from the cognitive dissonance caused that statement, perhaps it will occur to someone that the amount of data required to stake Magi, or other coin, is an important consideration for some..
Smiley

So;  how much data does staking use??

Did we reach the bottom during these last 14 days of almost no trading volume?
