Sorry if I'm asking a repeated question - when do the markets open (e.g. Bittrex)?  Thanks in advance.

Quote

Thanks - I saw that.  But I guess I was looking for an exact time.  As in - the markets open at XXXX UTC.  I guess I'll just go off of 24 hours after that tweet (not that I'm selling; I just want to watch the market reaction).

The problem here is distribution... if it's 100% PoS to start, as soon as he tries to move the presale coins from block 1 to distribute to investors, they lose their age and have to mature 24 hours before being eligable to stake and move the blockchain on. So nothing would happen at this point and everyone's coins would sit there unconfirmed.

So it looks like PoW is in there, and coin subsidy is 1 coin, this means it can be mined with Scrypt so that people's coins arrive and confirm without issue. It also looks like block 1 had 100 less coins than presale, possibly a mistake, but BTCA's screenshot shows the full amount - bit odd but presume coin dev mined the missing 100 and sent them to him. Either way by the end of 24 hours, if people continue to mine it to push the blockchain on there will be around 3000 coins more than presale. Negligible in reality once staking starts producing coins. But it seems getting block 1 correct and making the PoW subsidy zero would have been better.

If you don't to do the PoS mining , you can always send your arch to an exchange ( bittrex or bter Wink ).

then the POW blocks I was mining were not real?  Lol read the code bro

https://github.com/archcoin/archcoin/blob/master/src/main.h

"static const int LAST_POW_BLOCK = 3000;"

I don't know , I've only read that it is a 100% Proof of stake  coin ( as it  is write in the OP).

Sorry if I'm asking a repeated question - when do the markets open (e.g. Bittrex)?  Thanks in advance.

Yeah probably a last minute change or someone forgot to set the block reward to zero :X

No, that's right. Remember it takes 24 hours for coins to be available for staking. So who's going to secure the network when all coins are unavailable at this moment for staking? That 3000 is two days. In 24 hours, staking coins will take over.

Hello all.

My friend (who is not on BCT) has a serious wallet problem.

He downloaded the original wallet, created a new deposit address, then entered the crowdsale with it.

I guess at some point he closed the wallet, and has now opened it again to do the update and get his coins. However, the deposit address he created is MISSING.

Please someone tell me there is a way for him to still get his coins!

Thanks.

He says the original address in the wallet remains, just the one he created is gone. He has a copy of the created address, and I assume it is on the ledger.

So bummed for him. Any solutions? Architect?

Check out the buy order at 110k sats in https://bter.com/trade/ARCH_BTC  Shocked

Arch Profit Network - first crypto company of its kind. Wait for the press releases.

Cry if you sell low.

Is that going to be staying there?   I'll take my exit now then.  Smiley

Counterparty or Auroracoin went largely over 100 M$ marketcap in the first days. No reason to sell at only 2-3 M$ marketcap !!

If the original address is there, try creating another address and see if it appears - it's my understanding the private key has 100 or so addresses already associated with it ready for change etc...

EDIT: see '3' at: http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/4239/what-exactly-happens-when-a-new-wallet-is-created

Good luck!
