Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Yellowduck2 just looked at XC when coins was made less, the price doubled in no time. It will be to the advantage of coin.

Nothing stop you to start mining now and also like you suggest if miners wait to mine coins for higher reward it will dump the price.

Really something to consider

longer PoW = more dump = better coin distribution. People who cant mine buy coin from miner dump at cheap price which better distribute the coin. As a miner of course they want to cut as soon as possible but as an investor they want as cheap coin as possible.

Longer PoW better distribution for miner (more miner when PoW reward get higher) as well as investor get cheap coin.
Longer pow will only get to more dumps maybe even to 1 sat, how do you expect to recover from that and till where 50 sat, that will only make coin undervalued so if coin has some good future plans like this one has it should have less coins not more, so i again say start pos before pow ends it will still leave choice to miners, they can keep their wallets closed so no POS blocks will be generated and there will be more POW again

Agree with it, it is a better than directly stop at  12000.

In my opinion too. We should stop at 12000 block. If dev will be still active we see bittrex and ~ 300 satoshi Wink

Thanks for all your suggestions, I have chatted with team members, we are not sure whether it is a good idea or not. We would like to hear what forum members say. If it is highly demanded by the community, we may do a change and as mentioned by yellowduck2, we will notify pools 24 hours ahead.
don't cut pow blocks just make pos start earlier, it will lower the amount of pow blocks

yeah if POS startts cutting into POW it will lower supply somewhat, good thinking

I rather they cut the POW blocks altogether.

In the wallet, there is one icon named "statistics", click that icon and then you can find the current stat. Now we are at 10061 blocks

p.s. if you still have problem, please let me know.

IMO opinion cutting the PoW phase would be detrimental to the coin. To many PnD coins follow a short PoW method, the longer the PoW the fairer the distribution. Look at the trend of past coins with short PoW versus longer ones, the longer ones always hold up better in the end. You can cut the coin supply by implementing PoS faster but do not cut PoW short for the sake of price.

XC was probably an exception. Longer PoW would allow time for the Devs to implement what they have to in the meantime while shaking out big dumpers. If they cut this coin short as soon as it hits Trex its gonna get dumped. Devs havent even proven anything on this coin yet. Everyone needs to be patient, people want things fast thats why we were so quick to get scammed in the past.

+1 btw fair distribution is terrible. It will become a peasants coin. One reason why coins like DRK, BTCD and NXT reached those high market caps was because of unfair distribution.

those that saw the potential early should be rewarded. coins will be distributed fairly as price rises.

Whales make the price rise (significantly) and they usually do it through holding a majority of market share (unfair distribution)...fair distribution will only stagnate the price and volume, imho. In the past, thinking it was a good thing, I foolishly bought into many coins that promised fair distribution..each one of them barely saw any volume...and were dumped to death. No whales, no money.

Unfortunate but true, until the coin becomes mainstream like bitcoin, but their also the distribution is not so fair.We need big investors (Whales) along with continuous feature addition or development in a coin.

Flexcoin is doing nicely, it has a good pump every now and then barely any harsh dumps.

Personally in favor of this idea, I am worried PoW finish, PoS start at 15k, chance might happen the block chain stale at 15k, that is teh reason most coins have pos start before pow end.
