@ So What's with Nxt's Wallet?: at the risk of sounding like an apologist: what Ian and I have found is that setting the thing up is a pain in the tookus; but you get it goin' and get the hang of it, it's impressive. In all fairness to these guys, it's an entire crypto-verse that they've set out to create (pity they didn't get the currency-should-store-value thing right at the outset . . . )
@ FK: it'll be a fine thing to have you active!! As a TT, and having 'Verified' -- that's the pic of your phizz -- you need only wrassle with the Nxt wallet. When it's synched, you will find an Alert or Note that provides a 'public key.' When you post your wallet address here, post the public key with it. (Public-key thing just the one time.)
@ Benefactor: my system seems to have accepted a transfer to you. Please post if it turns up.

Tried a few more times. 1/3 openings, it downloads a few thousand and then quits for 10-15 minutes never to continue again, ...until I shut it down and reopen. This is totally unacceptable, and apparently their 'latest' wallet download isn't even the 'latest', so I'm assuming if I get to the rainbow at the end of this blockchain, I'll be rewarded with having to download a new blockchain?
I don't think I'm interested in this Nxt system. Sorry, Mark.
(I'm a little psychic, so it's no wonder I didn't want to get this started. Self-fulfilling prophesy? Naw, this unacceptable 'system' BS speaks for itself.)
There is nothing wrong with my 2 types of computer systems, but maybe they are too old for Nxt? (Rhetorical info. withheld.) Hey, even -qt wallets run just great on here.
/angry rant. (P.S. WTF is with silver? Should be higher right now!) /angry rant^2

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I can get the block chain down in about 15 minutes usually sometimes an hour if my net is being stupid.
I had some issues with the recent NSA update but it resolved itself after a few days 'and retries' it has always done so in the past.
I can't really help with your issues since I've not come across them myself.

Ian, can you post the link to the latest wallet? Maybe Benefactor has been led to an old wallet-download link?

@ Benefactor: leave it for the minute!
It may be that you are struggling with an old wallet. I will get the link to the latest. You should have received better support. I accept responsibility for this failure.
(and I have been avidly following the silver thing. QE will go stratospheric, then twill go t’other way.)

The time is ripe!! Let’s see which DVC holders frequent those other threads.
@ Win-win on DVC:
Guys, it’s becoming clear that DVC is gonna boom either as Hyper-Theory Boy’s dooper-specialised trading-instrument experiment in price-independence or ‘just’ a kick-arse bullion-driven in-house currency.
I bet most of us are at least a little surprised at how much bullion has come outa the wood work!

Apparently the NXT block chain was about 500 MB as of June. Java requirements 1.7 (Im using 8.2 or newer cant remember) I'm using the wallet from http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/. you could also use https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/downloadswhich from memory is an absolute prick to use since it requires you to run the java back-end and access the wallet via localhost website. I haven't used it on a long time though and apparently it has improved greatly.

Side note. The slowest thing I've ever had a NXT wallet on was a Quad ore AMD with 4 GB Ram. It worked ok, but in those days the client was a nightmare with a ton if issues regardless of machine.
Maybe check that you have both 32 and 64 bit java's or the relevant java installed. I always though 32bit installed by default but I only ever look into these things if they don't work for me or a client. Most of my clients think java is a metrosexual word for coffee.

@ Benefactor: rest! but I just sent a few Nxtty to you. My wallet says you're 'live,' with two transactions recorded. (Don't worry if it's an 'abandoned' wallet. The coins are worth only pennies.)

Yep, Bene's Nxt account is functioning as per original address and public key.
I really really really really want B. to be part of all this. Gotta help him.
Update: 1.3.4. wallet: first time you 'synch,' you're building the 'database tables.' After that, no problems -- and that's been my experience.

Ok, a whole night got me another 14,000 blocks. I'm not gonna do this one anymore. Thanks for all of your help. Your encouragement inspired me to try an overnighter, even though I despise leaving a system 'open', if you know what I mean. Good luck with the DeveloperCoins (DVC)'s . I'm letting it go, now. I was just gonna out-trade y'all, anyway.

@ DVC issue: Ian gets weekends off. Wa ha ha. DVC coming soon.
@ Falling Knife: I have transferred 50 Nxt and 2500 Nxttycoin to you. The Nxt are for transaction fees. The Nxtty are 'stable mates' of DVC. See if you can send a few to others, and have them send them back. All assets are sent 'via' Nxt addresses.

@ Blazr's Stable of Coins: I've noted that DVC's trading pair will be Uno/DVC; but TTs are, of course, free to trade DVC for other coins. All that matters is that the DVC themselves are traded only by TTs.
