'Patch' on Verification lookin' good. I think I agree with Ian. Cragv's idea makes simple sense. And my notion is of patiently strengthening the fabric over time: meet-ups, callings-out, re-(double)Verifications, the supply of the bullion by other known members, etc.

I suggest that -- luckily -- we will be able to improve the model as we proceed. We can triple or quadruple the number of DVC traders without going beyond the 'original' core community.

So I'm looking to buy 5 UNO in either XRP or BTC I don't know how the price policy works compared to public exchanges, but let me know !

Also I have a question about DVC, if you want to hold one DVC you need to own 2 ounces of silver & you can't hold more than 2 DVC. Also you need to be verified as a TT and it can only be 50 DVC TT so basically it's going to be a closed exchange between 50 persons that can't own more than 2 DVC ? I must be missing something.


On another side if you guys doesn't care about the design, your ticker can be done in a few minutes. Then we'll just need to find a place to host it. Eventually we could use a graph library to draw a nice chart for it, but well that's another story.

edit : i think that is price in btc , or did I do something wrong? earlier post from you show price of DVC @ ~$12. So, I think I did...
these are my calculations:
x = price of uno , usd * 100 = amount in cents
y = price of silver , per toz , * 2

y / x = what display on site -- that's right, correct?

Fixed your code for you But be careful this timeout is hella small so I got "kicked" from the API because of too many request. Also this silver price is only uploaded once a day.

Unrelated thought: there's a rapidly-increasing amount of varied information in this thread and trawling through it for reference will become increasingly tiresome. There are many ways to organise, maintain and present information (wiki, stand-alone forum, maintained info page, etc) - I wonder whether it's time to start looking at options before this thread gets completely out-grown?

No.

DVC are basically an experiment in community trust-building. Our goal is something much much bigger. DVC is very rare. It is 'invitation only'. It is traded exclusively on Un-Ex (here). The 'distributed vault' holds 2 ounces (Verified) for every DVC in circulation. It is traded only among people who know and trust each other.

DVC price for the ticker: for theoretical reasons, we work on Uno's price in US$. The equation is

(a) find the price-per-ounce of silver bullion ($US)               [Say, $15.25]
(b) double it (2 ounces per DVC)                                       [Thus, $30.50]
(c) check the price of Uno (in cents) on Coinmarketcap          [Say, 400]
(d) divide 3050 by 400                                                      [7.625]

(e) therefore 1 DVC = 7.625 Uno (but the price will vary: premiums and discounts!)
