I checked now the ping times of the de server and the solo server from my location
in the south/west of germany.
The result is half the time using the de server then.
solo.ckpool.org 199 mS
de.ckpool.org 47.2 mS

mtr reports 8 hops with 0% Loss on de.ckpool.org
and 13 hops with 2 times 10% loss on solo.ckpool.org

If somebody is intrested in those things.

If the US pool goes down does the German pool keep running?  I'm asking because I would use the German pool as a fail-over if it is independent of the USA node, but if they are all linked then there's no reason for me to set it up that way.

**I am only on this pool for a day**
But if I understand how it works correctly, if the above user added  a worker extension (which would be unknown to all of us) it would explain this.

I only have a signature because I'm allowed.

I'm very confused.

The DE server is proving surprisingly popular.

In answer to your questions, the DE server is completely separate from the solo pool so you can use each pool as a backup to the other pool if you like (same goes with the HK pool though that one's not popular at all).

The statistics aren't shared between pools, so if you are mining on solo, the hashrate and best shares show up on solo. If you mine on de, the hashrate and best shares show up on de. These are not complicated pools with databases and communication, they're just high performance mining nodes, each with their own very simple logs that you can access.
