Gah, I had a buy order for PPT.E that disappeared when the dividend happened, and now the BTC is still listed as unavailable in my account. Does anyone know to fix that without opening a support ticket?
It's a known bug. Nef has to correct it manually. Unfortunately he takes forever to do this, I've had over 130 BTC tied up unusable for a fortnight now, despite posts, PMs & emails to support & his personal address. I'm hopeful you don't know what a fortnight is and you think that it means a quarter of a day, because if this takes two weeks+ to be resolved I'm going to be upset. Edit: Got this email today. Fixed.
GLBSE support. Pretty good support time on the weekend there. mine too got sorted out today (2 weeks interest on that sum tied up would have earned me over $150 @ pirate.inc) & yes it's probably thanks to me patiently sending reminders & bitching about it that made yours resolve so fast

I just checked on PPT.E and there is currently a bid for 1 at 0.04. This is either a typo or someone that does not understand that the lowest price these bonds are ever sold at is 1.000 - the sales does not go lower than that.
Either that or someone just messed up their 3000 shares at 0.00001 that always get placed up.

CHECK YOUR BIDS NOW!!
At least the fat fingers were only for 22 shares this time instead of 250. Another perfectly timed auction, thanks.

Again our customers got great deals this week! They got insured and backed bonds with yields that rival or surpass the other uninsured pass through deposits and bonds! Not compounded that is... 7% weekly > 28% 4-weekly The insurance however makes the current cheap deals quite a bit better than some of the uninsured returns, especially for small/tiny investors that can't compound on the weekly deals.

PLEASE NOTE: Starting with this sale and going forward, in accordance with a motion passed by the owners and stockholders of PPT and PPT.DIV, the minimum acceptable bid will be raised from 1.00 BTC to 1.04 BTC per bond.
Well, good luck then with selling 3000... You should have called it "close down the business" motion

You should have done that gradually: 7/07 1.01 BTC minimum, 7/14 1.02 etc. I'm not interested to taking part to this "let's donate some money to those .DIV owners who have bought their hugely overpriced shares believing they'll get .42 BTC from the insurance fund when PPT closes down" issuance. I also see your next auction as a massive failure.

@cedus, it's .32 BTC insurance I believe
last week just 3 bonds would have sold if the minimum had been 1.04 or 1/1000 of the issue, the maximum interest is now then 24% or 6% per week which with funds insured for 32% gives 8.825% interest per week on funds that are actually at risk which is more than can be found anywhere else even direct from pirate on max interest, in fact a bid of 1.09 still would give a 7% per week return on funds at risk so not shabby at all, I wouldn't be too quick in writing off these offerings - ppl have basically been getting free insurance recently but when factored in this new minimum bid price is extremely fair imo

ppl have basically been getting free insurance recently but when factored in this new minimum bid price is extremely fair imo free insurance? yeah. sure the five "rotating" PPT.x bonds are all about an illusion of a free insurance. but let's be honest and let's finally say it: there is no real insurance on stake here, since the insurance "covers" only 1/4 of a potential lose, while requiring investors to be exposed to the risk 4 times longer! it's just a smart play, without any risk for the bond issuer / insurer so since the insurance is only an illusion, I don't see any reason why an illusion cannot be free. and moreover, even if they sell all the bonds at 1.00, they still make profit, because they can compound weekly interests, which effectively gives over 31% after 4 weeks.

Yes, it is. But there are people (read the .DIV thread) who have been buying .DIV thinking they are entitled to BTCs in the insurance fund (3840/9000) if PPT business were to shut down without Pirate's default. And I was wondering why the .DIV is trading so high. It makes perfect sense to me now. last week just 3 bonds would have sold if the minimum had been 1.04 or 1/1000 of the issue, the maximum interest is now then 24% or 6% per week which with funds insured for 32% gives 8.825% interest per week on funds that are actually at risk which is more than can be found anywhere else even direct from pirate on max interest, in fact a bid of 1.09 still would give a 7% per week return on funds at risk so not shabby at all, I wouldn't be too quick in writing off these offerings - ppl have basically been getting free insurance recently but when factored in this new minimum bid price is extremely fair imo
Don't know where you got those numbers (I think right ones are slightly smaller), but I basically agree with your reasoning. I want to emphasize that I'm highly sceptical with the next auction, and the next auction only. After that PPT begins to weekly regain its competitive advantage.

In response to some sensible questions from PPT.DIV holders, and some quite stupid and ill informed comments by some others... Are you saying publicly that my comment was stupid and ill informed? OK... I was going to shut up, as PPT-PR asked, but since you've just asked so much kinder, now I won't be quiet. So let's make it clear one more time. First of all, since when is telling people a truth, which they (obviously) don't realize, considered as a "quite stupid and ill informed comment"? Second, if anyone is stupid and ill informed here, then only the people who believe that you guys (the mighty PPT share-holders) insure anything for them. So don't insult me because my motives, unlike yours, are pure and my conclusions are impregnable. I am not the one who tricks people into believing that you provide some "free insurance" for the cycling PPT bonds. I am the one who just says the truth: the free insurance is only an illusion and the "insurer" does not hold any risk here. In reality it is your own BS&T deposit that gets 100% insurance from the bond buyers, and not the other way around - if you are denying this, then you are just nothing but a cheeky crook. Do you want me to draw a chart for you? I mean, if you still don't understand how your legendary "free insurance" is just a smart lie...
