Here's a sneak preview of the modular Rig Enclosure.  It's initial availability will be in the form of the Mini Rig product which is the implementation illustrated below.  However, it's been designed to house any of the common cards in it's modular platform including standard Single PCB's.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Those enclosures you use, they are factory sourced correct ?
Ive seen the same models used for other custom equipment before when servicing mining sites (and also for sale on alibaba).

Or are you now using different cases to those displayed on your website ?
The cases you display on the website only have vents on the front and back, but I see you placing them on the side in this design.

It would have been acceptable to put this in one of the many mini-rig threads.. just a thought  Undecided

So, the configuration rendered is a Mini Rig. But it is a different product and therefore doesn't belong in one of the three threads about the Mini Rig. Right...

There is no need to spam the FPGA sub-forum with rendering announcements. We get it, BFL is figuring out how to actually build the Mini Rig.

But we can see this has Ethernets in it!  COMPLETELY different.

Can I browse Youtube on it while it hashes?!?

Regarding the water block, your website says:
A much requested water block option is coming for both single and mini rig owners.  Here’s a look at the pre production prototype.

Will this be sold as an optional accessory ? and what price range can we expect ?

It would be an Utopia to be able to run the Mini-Rig in the same room as I sleep. Although I assume some exhaust fans will still be needed to exhaust the heat from the power circuitry ?

Also the tubing has some cable on it, is this pressure sensor or water flow sensor ?

Those are temperature sensors for the water that can be read out on an lcd.

Tired of substandard power distribution in your ASIC setup???   Chris' Custom Cablez will get you sorted out right!  No job too hard so PM me for a quote

again I find the airflow design.. disappointing.  Not sure if there is a similar array of fans at the other side, but either way, it looks like  just a copy/paste job while there was opportunity to make something much more efficient by orienting the boards differently and creating windtunnels.

That said, I still want one Smiley

Although I am sure there are ways to improve it, I don't think the current design is insufficient, and should work reasonably well - the side-to-side instead of front-to-rear airflow is also a welcome development. Remember - there is still a "supercomputer" yet to come... I feel that they will pulling out all the stops on that one, making it the ultimate system.

And for what it's worth, due to recent comments by BFL, I believe that as postulated by some, this is indeed a custom run of programmable devices of some kind. A custom device doesn't *have* to be single-purpose, it is just a lot harder to design a reprogrammable device. But it can be done.

I sure hope you don't think I'm a BFL hater! I actually am a forum spam hater! BFL could have one thread for updates! Now I have to potentially follow 4 threads for the complete discussion! Exclamation mark!

Actually, the design does have a heat evacuation wind tunnel at each layer.  The upper section of each tray has an isolated heat channel that collects hot air as it's drawn up from the radiator fins where it's blown out in exhaust.

The enclosure performs well with Singles which are significantly hotter than Mini Rig processor cards.  However, in that implementation we recommend activating both the left and right side fans.

Here's an image showing the channel bottom with circular HSF cutouts.  The underside of the next level's tray stacks on top of this in order to create the channel cavity.  Left and right fans power the exhaust.  It runs ultra cool ultra even when filled with regular Singles.

So you've got some already made?  How about pictures instead of renders then?
