China is one of world dominator in health, sports, and industry.

China still lag behind the USA in the Olympic Medals count;
As per WHO (an UN Agency the PRC is a member of) China's health care system before 1980 performed far better than countries at a comparable level of development, since 1980 ranks much lower than comparable countries due to the end of the barefoot doctor system;
However, China as some National Champions like Huawei, Lenovo, etc who are competing well with foreign corporations in foreign markets. Sadly, PRC has also scores of sweatshops like Foxconn and Inventec.

On a lighter tone, at the moment this is the best......Evidence of Chinese dominator:

 Cool

Corrupt Chinese politicians are moving a lot of money from China to western countries.
It's not a good phenomenon for becoming Super Power.

Corruption is omnipresent.
You would be kidding yourself if you think corruption is restricted to the developing world.  Smiley
As a percentage of total economies, corruption is a much bigger problem in developing/third world countries then it is in the developed/industrialized world.

China is an exception to this. Corruption is a huge problem in China and a lot of money and resources are spent in ways that benefit politicians and such money usually will go overseas

The Chinese economy has tended to be very volatile over the past 2 decades with larger booms and busts then the rest of the world. So far this has resulted in higher overall long term growth rates as the Chinese economy has grown faster then the rest of the world.

China will become super power, but not in some years - in 30 - 40 years and not less. Manufacturing in China is  sometimes very old and country is relatively far from Europe and US.

China has economic slow downs and recessions just like every other economy in the world. He is correct to say that recessions in China tend to be deeper then other developed country's recessions (in other words their economy tends to slow more)

China does not raise its currency price because the gains to trade from exporting its goods and products to the world
Still outweight that of importing, in addition they are cutting back spending after the leader changed
To try and reduce a pricing bubble so expect more regulated controls on the exchange rate in the years to come
(Plus their is a price war brewing with Japan Korea and China right now)

It is not military super power.

The higher GDP comes with a price. If you include the cost to clean up the pollution, the effective (beneficial) GDP is actually lower. People's quality of life is endangered by the contamination.

Well if you talk to the people in the inner circle, they reckon China is already a Super Power. It owns loads of businesses around the world, and they have their hands on some of the best resources this world has to offer.

My blood runs cold just thinking about the prospect of a 3rd World War, when these super powers start to bump heads.  Sad

China is generally considered a "super power" by much of the world. Their military could likely defeat most other militaries and can defend themselves from most other countries.

I don't think we will ever see any kind of world war that we saw in WW1 or WW2 as major countries are much less likely to fight against eachother directly because of the prospect of nuclear war. We will see more proxy wars

China is done. Fake numbers all over, massive erroneus investments, massive debt and money printing. The saving population is going to be fucked from behind. Hard landing. The country is going to be totally parked. Super power - not.
