I rolled over.
Is it the restart Kano mentioned?

Edit - Back Smiley

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function.
Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

There were some network issues at 20:20 UTC and a lot of miners started dropping off (1hr ago)
... my Ipad and phone started their usual beeping to wake me up 20:20 UTC = 7:20am Smiley
I restarted ckpool at 20:26 UTC (I had network issues connecting on and off up to 20:25 UTC)
Most miners reconnected soon after that.
The server network log also shows a spike at 20:20 UTC but only for a minute.

The datacentre said it was an upstream router having problems last time.

It would appear it has happened again about 15minutes ago.
Some miners drop off due to the delays with data getting through, and others hang on for dear life just managing to survive and sneak in before the 30 second limit on the sockets.
It's cleared up again already so all should be ok again.

In case anyone noticed and was wondering ... had another short outage about an hour ago like the last one.
Datacenter upstream network issue again.
Basically slow to connect and data not getting through, though of course the pool itself was running.

The spike is me sorry guys I am gambling.  I can't gamble on table or slots in over 80% of the hotels due to the nature of my employer. The other 20% are dives.  I am limited to sports betting and I guess renting hash.

... and the code to allow me to add web pages to show that on the web site is very close to completion (it's in testing) Smiley
Although the information has always been there, I'm completing adding in the summarisation of that information into the appropriate tables so that web requests will be quick and thus possible.
Once testing is completed and I put it live, I'll then work on adding more web pages to show payout/payment/performance details.

As a new miner I would appreciate some better stats for payout/payment/performance. I have tried to figure out the payment system and I am totally lost. The guy I bought my miner from said to use this pool, so I am sticking with it. Right now I have been mining for 2 days @1.5Th and have recieved $1.16. I am hoping this keeps going up otherwise the math ain't working. Trying to hang in there.

This is a PPLNS pool with a 5x network difficulty ramp time.  In other words, it'll take you longer than the 2 days you've been mining to reach the full clip.  Have a bit of patience Smiley.

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow!  Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets!  No SPV cheats.  No empty blocks.

As stated it does take a while to ramp up to 500% mark. This works both ways though, should you leave you continue to get paid on those shares u submitted. This comes up frequently from miners new to this pool and Kano has explained it many times. I urge you to back and read through previous posts.

Here are some of Kano's previous responses where he explained the payouts, hope this helps some:

I am a fairly new miner myself and at first the payment methods used by pools sounded like a convenient way to use a ton of math to intentionally make things complicated.
After moving a significant portion of my hash to this pool I have not looked back except to say Wow, what a difference. The last pool I was at has an experienced, respected pool owner who does a good job. The payouts for my small amount of hash were never anything compared to what I have made here.
Also the level of support here is immense. You have the two guys who make the most widely used mining software - CGminer here for the pool side support as they wrote that software as well.

At the moment, I do not see any pool being as transparent, they are here everyday answering many of the same questions, and you can track every payment.

The PPLNS payment method provides you with less variance than others.

You could also try solo mining, but it is a gamble, and you may not ever find a block. That is CK's pool and his thread is right here in the pool subforum.

Otherwise, as Phil told me when I started asking all sorts of the same questions, set it up and forget about it.

It is certainly not good to move around "chasing" luck, as another valuable lesson to learn is luck is in the past and no amount of luck will affect the future.

GL!

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function.

I restarted ckdb 10 minutes ago - no affect on mining, just some updates on the web site.
There's now 2 new pages: showing your last 99 shifts and the payments for each block (including future payments for blocks already found)
I've also added a 3rd mining payouts page but it's not working right, so I'm working on fixing that now and will have it working as soon as I resolve that.
