Ok, guys, I think this is really unfair and not acceptable
that you let people loose coins because they did not take time to check
this threat before moving their coins.

.....

Could I get some guidance ?
thanks in advance

I have the same issue about transation failure...
tried to lower the amount at 500 coins and even 100 coins and still gives the same issue...
What to do?
please help

Hello Altcoinlover,

This is definately a problem, and we are aware that this can happen, is there any way for you to contact me through slack?
Regarding the transaction failure, It's not limited by the amount of coins but by the amount of input addresses,
so it seems with 100 coins you still have more then 1000 input adresses, so you still need to lower them more.

Hi, sure I can try to contact you on slack even if I am really not familiar with it....

I searched for a slack stuff in the head post, and did not find anything.

How can I reach you on Slack?
Sorry if this is a strange question.. ;-)

looking foward hearing from you to connect on Slack

thanks

Hello Altcoinlover,

Damn it,

I just sent 1.2 Million Whitecoin from Bittrex, and was wondering why they didn't show up in my wallet.

I almost sent a small amount as a test first, but my though process was, I've never had any trouble with whitecoin giving me a problem....

I am not sure if this clears it up, but I used a legacy wallet to generate that whitecoin address.

Is there a chance that I can recover that?

I am not sure if this clears it up, but I used a legacy wallet to generate that whitecoin address.

Is there a chance that I can recover that?

There is a manual swap going on, and the coins on bittrex are on a different chain. So they have already been swapped, and are not compatible with the legacy wallet.
However, there is a solution to get them back.

The old wallet (Called Legacy wallet) uses the same privatekeys as the new wallet (V2)
So what you can do is the following steps:

Step 1. Legacy wallet

  • Launch your whitecoin legacy client
  • Click on 'help' in the menu bar
  • Click on 'debug window'
  • Select the 'console' tab
  • If your wallet is protected by a passphrase (i.e you have to enter a passphrase before you can send) unlock it by typing: walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
  • Then type: dumpprivkey [your Whitecoin address here] (Without the brackets)

Step 2. V2.0.0.0 wallet
https://github.com/Whitecoin-org/Whitecoin/releases/tag/v2.0.0.0

  • Launch your whitecoin v2 client
  • Click on 'help' in the menu bar
  • Click on 'debug window'
  • Select the 'console' tab
  • If your wallet is protected by a passphrase (i.e you have to enter a passphrase before you can send) unlock it by typing: walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
  • Then type: importprivkey yourPrivateKeyInWalletImportFormat "TheLabelThatIWant"
  • Restart the wallet and the coins should show up

After the coins show up you are good to go and you don't need to swap them manually, if you need more help please join us on slack.
Let me know if this helps.

Can anyone go over the improvements in Whitecoin V2.0?

it looks like staking coins is a lot different.

I agree whats the deal with staking?

Is there an optimal block size?

I have a reasonable amount and not staked in days...

Hello boy2k,

the staking in the legacy wallet works in the following way:
You get 2% per year. So it dosn't matter, when you open your wallet.
If the wallet is open and you have some mature coins, then you get your stake after some time (depends on the network).
So it is adequate to open your wallet every 2 months and wait until you get your stake for that time and then close your wallet.

The staking in the new wallet works in the following way:
You get 2 XWC for every staking (for every block you generate).
So you only get stake when the wallet is opened and you have some mature coins (depends on the network).
You do not get a fixed amount of stake (i.e. 2%), but you get stake for opening the wallet (and unlock it).

This prevents the problem with the network we had in the legacy wallet, when someone with a big amount of XWC starts to stake and then close the wallet, after he has gotten all the stake.
The new wallet rewards the holders who have opened the wallet and not the holders, who only open it every 2 months.

I hope I could clarify the staking a little bit Wink

I like the new staking method much better. It rewards those who regularly support the network over the largest holders. Great job. Smiley

what plans are there going forward from this point? I know the swap ends like in a month or something but surely there will be some new on development or some reason for people to be interested in xwc before then?

let's generate some kind of interest before bittrex puts us up for delisting next. I see 0.006 volume today.
