also, wow,  this high hashrate is becoming more common. at that difficulty, its not profitable to sell under 10-12 satoshi!

I guess the profitability depends on how much you pay for electricity as I  presume it's not worth mining scrypt on a botnet now there are scrypt asics.
One possibility is that some people want doged anonymously rather than going through an exchange. It would be interesting to see if a shapeshift like service on tor would get any business as with the sell orders on the exchanges it doesn't seem worth doing any mining if you just want a load of doged.
Another mining question, are there any plans to merge mine with litecoin like doge does so it has a huge hashrate to protect against 51% attacks?

doge was merged because the blocks are so small now, the network was losing power..

we can always merge mine if needed, but right now our network is very fast =]

also, the tip bot should be back up in irc, playing with it now.. exploit was patched, just restoring everyones balances n stuff..

I was reading the LTCD thread trying to figure it's "dark" side and I almost spilled my coffee lol I was really interested to see what was it's "dark" side (has none) but reading the devs had said they were locking the thread until new year it made my morning  Grin
also on twitter the Syscoin asking for help to make the coin "dark" by including two lines of coding was almost as hilarious. I guess most people just want to make quick bucks and fall for anything Cheesy and/or those promising anonymity have no idea what they are talking about. (btw nothing against any of those coins)

untraceable means unlike other coins, the users ip wont be discovered. anonymity with transparency. =]

basically if you send me any other crypto coin, i can A) see your balance from the address you sent from, and B) get your ip address.

this is pretty much like telling someone how much cash you have, and where  you live. now the burglar just needs to check your windows for a way in.

our coin, when used on our i2p or tor network, doesnt reveal the address..

but yeah, lol.. i know what ya mean! hope you had an awesome holiday jwinterm!

remember, our doged nodes can be found easily on the tor atlas search, by looking for "doged", or you can just drop a message here ;]

Holidays have been nice, still a few more days for me before I'm back home. Hope you had nice holidays as well Smiley

Still think stealth addresses would be nice feature, or other features to improve untraceability/unlinkability. I think you would be hard pressed to identify a bitcoin user's ip if they're using one time addresses, let alone a monero user's address with stealth addressees and ring sigs (and they're implementing i2p as well).

Anyway, look forward to see what's in store for the new year.
Cheers!
