We are working in making it compatible with Java 8. For now, it requires Java 7 Pain in the ass, I know...

sudo /bin/sh run.sh gives:
2014-12-15 02:00:46 INFO: nhz.javadocResourceBase = "html/doc" 2014-12-15 02:00:46 INFO: nhz.uiServerCORS = "false" Exception in thread "Thread-0" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class nhz.peer.Peers at nhz.user.Users.<clinit>(Users.java:184) at nhz.Nhz.shutdown(Nhz.java:180) at nhz.Nhz$1.run(Nhz.java:135) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:745)
Anyone any ideas what I'm up against?
Well, it's failing to find nhz.peer.Peers. That could point to any number of things really, but my thoughts basically line up to redownloading the software. There's no files to save, just remove and start again, then set your hallmarks again if you need to. Have you checked that your Ubuntu is definitely using Java 7 - we did find some issues with running Java 8 on some setups. If you've already taken some steps, please detail them so we can rule as much out as possible.

Seems you were right. I already tested last time by extracting the zip and replacing folders I deemed important. Seems I was wrong. And dumb: I just should have tested the new extracted archive ;p Did that this time and all works just fine! Sorry for the mess? Thanks Community. Dumb Linux ;p Devvie twitter.com/devnullius

The past 5 payments were to make up for the missing 5 payments. We are running it another 3 times to make up for the others and after that, we will be running it manually once a day until Michael works out an issue and it can be back to running automatically.

How to understand the amount of dividends paid for keeping NHZ in wallet? My amount increases, but everyday dividends are constant.

IIRC the last few payments were manual payments to make up for the lost ones. Maybe they opted to pay it out based on a snapshot of funds, instead of actual monitoring of current balances. Pizpie said that the fix is in place and they will return to automatic payments soon. Scripted payments took actual balance into account when paying out. In other news, the number of nodes seems to be steadily climbing towards 5000. That is good news, if you ask me

Stakeholder script: The stakeholder script has been fixed and is back to running automatically. We are running it an extra 3 times, after that it will be back to the 1 a day payout. With developing new tech, there are going to be hiccups now and then, but we are always working to resolve such issues as promptly as possible. There were a wide variety of missed payments people were reporting so we took the average to come up with that number + the extra payouts we did a few days ago. Some people reported that accounts weren't receiving payouts while some of their other accounts were. If you have an account that wasn't receiving payouts, and you never received the extra payouts we ran, then we suggest moving your funds from those inactive accounts to new ones. We won't be processing missed payouts manually, but with the recent fixes deployed, we are confident we should be back to running smoothly with all the scripts and explorer instance. We apologize for any inconveniences, and appreciate your patience while we resolved the issues. Multipool: We are pleased to announce that the multipool is now live and will be receiving updates as we continue to progress. You can get started with it here: http://www.hzmultipool.com/Block explorer: The issue that was causing the explorer to get stuck has been resolved, and we have not seen any recurring problems since then. Node bounty script: Payout script has been fixed and is back to running normally, and we haven't detected any issues since the fix was deployed. Some users are reporting nodes not being detected even after a few days, and we are actively investigating this issue and will post an update / deploy a fix when we have solved the issue. V1.2.9 client update: Currently in development by a contracted developer, and will hopefully have something to show by years end. Trust / Reputation: Currently in development and will hopefully have something to show by years end as well. This is one of our defining features that will play a crucial role in unannounced developments. New ANN page / Forum turnover / Horizon FAQ Wiki: Both are actively being worked on and should be completed soon and deployed. - The Horizon Team

2014 was supposed to be the year 'big money' got into cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. I think we still have a ways to go until I see that happening. Investors need to know that when they buy something, they aren't going to wake up and have it worth 20% less than what they paid 24 hours ago. Most are looking to generate profit on their investment, and they don't all believe or care about the underlying values of blockchain or Bitcoin.
This is why I think assets have a distinct advantage in providing stability since they can be pegged to a $ figure. This removes the volatility of the crypto markets, and provides the stability businesses, investors, and your every day user is looking for.
Just a part of a larger paper I'm working on to outline the vision and direction... #Horizon
