Hey guys.
Just wanted to stop by with a quick update. As some of you may know I have partnered with some real good people and we have developed www.gamebet.gg
Its an online platform where you can wager on eSports using cryptos and Steam items. In the future it will have a full casino and sports betting as well. I have been in talks with KA and my team and we have decided to support C2 in a future update which is expected to happen in about 3-4 weeks.
You'll be able to deposit C2 and withdrawal your winnings in C2 as well. Our plan is to keep expanding our site and partnerships and we hope we'll be able to shine a much needed light on C2 GameBet and GameBet coin.

For more information about our project please visit our thread.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1410287.0

daily modo this is great.  when are you going to implement sports betting?  all my mining proceeds will be going to you then.   Grin

Hi wheelz.
We plan of having the sports book up and fully functional within the next 3-4 weeks. I also replied to your pm.
Thanks.

lol just read this, ignore my question about the sports betting in the pm.

re 15 minutes: hmmm.. have you tried the version I mentioned or do you still use some of the previous versions?
re compressing: if by "compressing" you mean "skipping blocks"  then no, wallet needs them all to rebuild chain on its own. You can however try to zip datadir (without wallet, logs and config files) and provide that to skip initial reindexing but I'm not 100% sure if that would actually work when you move it from one system to another.

The version I am using is the last one you worked on I believe, the one that was created around the time the blockchain got stuck.
Well, I can already hardly remember what it was and even when that happened Grin But I believe it was "2.1.2 critical bugfix". Check version number in Help -> Debug window, mine says v2.1.3.0

guess im a version behind, i have v2.1.2.0 lol my bad

switched to the latest version, now im stuck waiting to sync again, but its ok i guess, lol

Also updated the link on the Op to point directly at the releases page instead of a specific version.

Think I'm having an issue here and missing some coins, not sure if they just haven't caught up to the transaction of when i sent them to my wallet or what, their still showing on the blockchain but im gonna use the 2.1.2 wallet until your able to respond man.

Wait a sec on that, I got it to run by downloading and extracting the dll file to the folder, but you should actually seriously work on getting it to accept the blkindex.dat file that is currently there for the previous version... this could be a major turn off for all users having to redownload it each time there is an update.

Anyway for people wanting to download the blockchain again after installing for now, just download this and extract it to the folder with the 2.1.3.1 exe: http://download.dll-files.com/c81c2063954800835adc179294cea84f/libgcc_s_dw2-1.zip?0XHlXIcDlR

Please Note: This is just a suggestion, 2.1.3.0 still works just fine for now and can be used still until 2.1.3.1 is functioning properly.

Can't reproduce it.. this should only happen when you move from 2.1.2 to 2.1.3+, not when you move from 2.1.3 to 2.1.3.1 because as I mentioned in 2.1.3 release notes:
Quote
Note: this release contains breaking changes to how block index is stored. You will HAVE TO resync blockchain from scratch either directly from network or by using bootstrap.dat (could take few hours). Make a copy of your current data folder in case if you decide to switch back.

It is happening though man, not trying to be a pain, but im using 2.1.3 at the moment and when I try to open 2.1.3.1 it tells me it has an error with the blkindex.dat file.

well.. I have no idea why then tbh - I launched 2.1.2, synced a bit, launched 2.1.3 - got error, deleted blkindex.dat and launched 2.1.3 again, synced a bit again, launched 2.1.3.1 and it went fine with no errors at all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Could you upload your blkindex.dat somewhere (prev link is expired now)?

I'll attempt it, but could take forever for it to upload as it is like 682mb and my net is really slow lol

If anything until 2.1.3.1 is fixed, I would use 2.1.3.0, it opens quicker than previous versions and i think 2.1.0.0 had a problem with the debug log growing to gigantic file size

The thing about 3.0 is you have to redownload the entire blockchain or use the bootstrap with it to sync up. The bootstrap is most likely quicker, there should be instructions on how to use it, it can be downloaded from http://c2chain.info/bootstrap
