I'm undecided whether to buy 1x gtx 1070 or 2 amd 480 , I mining all .

Support is still lacking for the 1070/80 on Windows... SP apparently isn't doing anything and Eps works on hobby projects. Ethminer is still broken as well on both cards until Genoil fixes stuff.

That being said, AMD hardware is ruled by private bins, specifically from Wolf0 which he wont sell to you unless you have a lot of BTC and even then... he probably wont. Otherwise you're going to be stuck with slow performance.

Right now older gen stuff is better off...

did you tried the 1070 under win 10 with the 368.20 drivers, it should fix the low hashrate, since wddm 2.1 is showing up there

i don't have a 1070 otherwise i would do it myself, waiting for g1 gaming....

Why are you offering advice when there is no confirmation or rational for it being fixed on W10? Can you point me to a source of NeoS producing normal hashrate on W10?

368.20 doesn't even support 1070/1080. Major support didn't show up till 368.25.

You're one of the few people I'm actually considering putting on ignore as what you talk about or attempt to talk about is highly flawed or just outright wrong. At least attempt to make a effort to check what you're talking about before you post something.

That aside I wasn't even asking for advice, I was giving him advice on the current state of 1xxx series and 480.

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

it wont work with 1070 - windows update 368.20 is for maxwell only - for Pascal its 368.39 but if it might be a good idea to extract windows update driver for maxwell and add inf lines for Pascal - but I dont have the time to check - if I do I'll post results

you think i care about your ignore list, there are many that have done so, i'll continue to quote you regardless, if you ignore me or not

now with those driver there is a possibility to have the fix for the tlb on etheruem for 1070, not NEOS, there is not only neos to be fixed, but in theory neos should be somehow fixed with wddm 2.1, since they share the same problem both eth and neoscrypt...

we know already that they work only on linux(1070/1080), so instead of crying try another route, because you are not helping anyone either with your whining

And that's only available for windows insiders and no information on what exactly wddm 2.1 does or if it will fix things for Nvidia. The driver itself is older then the ones everyone has installed, either in W10 or W7/8.

When you test it and figure out if it fixes things, THEN say it's a fix. Right now all you're doing is pointing out there is a newer WDDM available for W10 on the insider pre-release that auto-downloads with Nvidia drivers that are older then the ones currently available.

You think asking developers to fix bugs in their program is whining? You're a dumbass.

Good news everyone - the driver for both Win 78/Win 10 insider preview should be available next week - on this driver all Pascal GPUs are able to do the same as on Linux on ether in Win 10 Insider preview without any change
But with Win 7/8 and other algos for win 10 insider preview devs need to take action
If any devs are interested in details PM me - Genoil is informed, it would be nice to fix neoscrypt - if anyone is up to the task - welcome

with pascal we can kill the diff for another month or two, so no need to worry

1 rig full of 6 x 1070 is currently earning 0.037 a day, and consume only 900w or less which is better than anything else at the moment

Dunno why the excitement but a Nano is cheaper

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
483 EURO (cheapest one i could find)

vs

Asus R9 Nano White
481 EURo (also cheapest one i could find)

and! consumes less.. one 6x Nano rig at 140Mh (ethereum) consumes 2.4A or 528watt..  $13.78 per day or 1.07 eth..

yes and it does 222MH, which is almost 2 eth? no... so what's your point?

aside form this it was 132-135w at 80w each nano, which is 480 plus system, here we have 222MH at 840w plus system

Last I saw was 200MH per 6 cards with absurd overclock. How long will these cards survive?

those are new gpu, they can sustain higher overclock, check about the possibility with pascal they can be pushed easily to 1800 core and more

the same for amd 480x

the proof is one guy doing it in the ethereum(complete guide and anything) forum under linux only for the moment, but soon it should be possible under windows

Hey Amph,

I modified that rom even more, it's 140Mh or 23.5Mh per card at the same rate(wattage).

Further, you said, and i quote

I guess you miss typed there?

0.037 eth per day is nothing.. to get that you would need only 5Mh.. So yeah, you must have miss typed Smiley

Anyhow, 222Mh for a 6x 1070 rig? That's around 37Mh per card. It "could" be true, but i seriously doubt it..
haven't seen any proof of that on any forums.. But again, i could be wrong.

Btw, especially when only using -900watt.. if that would be true, those 1070 would already be sold out until the end of the year..

i think the nano is just a special case, it's really impressive that it can perform so well, but remember that there are other profitable algorithm, and i dobut you can do so well outside of ethereum? what about neoscrypt or lyra2v2 with the nano?

that earning is in bitcoin, not ethereum, i forgot to say 0.037 btc

here the proof http://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7780/gtx1070-linux-installation-and-mining-clue-goodbye-amd-welcome-nvidia-for-miners#latest

yes you can say "i don't believe it" but why he should lie? you think that he is pro nvidia, he don't care, everyone here is for the profit, also it make no sense for him to post such a guide and lie shamelessly

he say that you can even push it even farther than 37, a little bit more

i also contacted him and he tweaked and fixed the instability problem, so it's possible to have it stable at those rate

Hey Amph,

Thx for that link, i must have missed that!

A quote from that post

Quote
As you can see here i am doing +200 on the clock and +1500 on the memory, some notes you might find handy:

single card: +285 & +1800 is the max, single card pushes you to 37.19MH/s with Cuda or 32,66MH/s with OpenCL
multi card: + 275 & + 1775 is the max, but not stable (read: 6 hourely crashes) and pushes 4MH/s per card
multi card: +200 & + 1600 semi stable, needs more testing but this might be better and pushes another 3MH/s per card

again, these settings might not work for you, but gets you in the ballpark.

So basically, he will do around 30 per card, which is still very impressive to say the least!

Anyhow, you asked me for another algo for my nano's?
Quote

Well.. Siacoin is doing very good..

My 390's do 1200 (avarage) Mh at default clocks.
My 290's do around 1100Mh
My 380 does around 800 with a slight memory over clock.

My nano at core clock 650! does 1100Mh as well. Consuming only 70 watt!
If i crank that baby up to 950 core, it will hit 1650Mh and at around 1100 core it does 1850Mh.

Haven't tested neoscrypt or lyra on my nano's tbh, Ethereum has been to profitable for me to even try..

Thx again for that link, i seriously missed that post..

Greetings!

Amph,  Has anyone else you know of setup the GTX 1070 like this and been able to validate these numbers?  I would love to see some data from people who have done this to see how it all shapes up.  Love to see some temps.  Sounds like he is pushing these cards pretty hard.

here the proof http://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7780/gtx1070-linux-installation-and-mining-clue-goodbye-amd-welcome-nvidia-for-miners#latest

yes you can say "i don't believe it" but why he should lie? you think that he is pro nvidia, he don't care, everyone here is for the profit, also it make no sense for him to post such a guide and lie shamelessly

he say that you can even push it even farther than 37, a little bit more

i also contacted him and he tweaked and fixed the instability problem, so it's possible to have it stable at those rate

Amph,  Has anyone else you know of setup the GTX 1070 like this and been able to validate these numbers?  I would love to see some data from people who have done this to see how it all shapes up.  Love to see some temps.  Sounds like he is pushing these cards pretty hard.

like you i'm waiting for the update from that thread, unfortunately i don't have a 1070 yet, i'm waiting for g1 gaming to be available at a better price, not 550 or more, which is expensive
