Got mine today. Plugged it into my machine which is currently running 2 Ant U2's with CGminer 4.4.2. I used Zadig to install the WinUSB driver for the device. Do I need to update CGMiner or change my command line to get this to work?
UPDATE: Tried CGMiner 4.7.1 and no improvement.
Icarus detect (1:11) fialed to initialise (incorrect device?)
Is no one using else using their U3 yet?

I got mine yesterday, tried to build the CGMiner that Bitmain provides ( https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer), but kept getting compilation errors on my Mac. Got it to compile on a Ubuntu 14.04 box but it couldn't find the device. I also tried various BFGMiner versions on my Mac and my Ubuntu boxes and the Mac couldn't find the device. The Ubuntu box found 2 of the 4 chips and is currently hashing at ~4gh/s. I'm kinda at a loss.

I don't have any clue how to do that. Wish I had known that when I bought it.

If you run Windows you should be able to use the Bitmain version here: https://bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=007201404130633105772QFG6R2u0635If you are on Linux or OSX you might be able to use BFGMiner but my hash rate is way lower than advertised when using BFGMiner, so I think there might need to be a adjustment made.

Best results I have had, with Bitmain provided Cgminer 4.6.1 is about 10 GHs using --bmsc-options 115200:10. Any freq setting I have tried has not improved speed, and doesn't help that I don't know the default speed that chips should be running at. I am not sure if we are doing something wrong, or these are not ready to be mined with yet. That said, I have them in hand, instock ready to sell if your willing to buy now, run later.

i have had best luck with this command about 45GH/s but not even close to 63GH/s as advertised "hassle free setup" not really cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:1 -o stratum+tcp://us1.ghash.io:3333 -u user -p password --bmsc-voltage 0750 --bmsc-freq 0882
can anyone let me know how to mine with multiple u3 in the same cgminer

First; the powerbrick that comes with the U3 will only initialize the miner correctly maybe 1/4 of the time, and tended to zombie; everytime.
Once I switched to another 12v 6a powerbrick the U3 worked.
Like ImCrazyOne I have been testing different settings using the general:
cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:1 -o pool -u user -p password --bmsc-freq Fvar1 --bmsc-voltage Vvar2
where var1 and var 2 are as follows:
Fvar1 Vvar2 watt/GHs
0C82 0800 84/47 with errors
0C82 0725 47/10 with errors
0B82 0725 57/12 with errors
0A82 0725 52/46 with errors
0982 0725 47/40
0882 0800 51/47
0882 0725 42/47
0882 0720 42/45
0782 0750 39/42
0782 0725 37/45
0782 0720 37/45 best tested so far
0782 0710 36/45
0782 0700 35/46
0682 0800 40/42
0682 0750 35/44
0682 0730 33/42
0682 0725 33/40
0682 0720 32/40
0682 0710 31/40
0682 0700 30/42
0582 0725 28/37
So for now I recommend replacing your power brick and using:
cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:1 -o pool -u user -p password --bmsc-freq 0782 --bmsc-voltage 0720

Try these: cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:1 -o miningpool:port -u user -p password --bmsc-voltage 0750 --bmsc-freq 0882

Not sure if this is the right thread for this anymore... I got CGMiner compiling on OSX and per the suggestions above for settings ran it with: ./cgminer --bmsc-options 115200:1 --bmsc-voltage 0720 --bmsc-freq 0782 And this is the output: cgminer version 4.7.0 - Started: [2014-11-12 02:26:32] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (5s):0.000 (1m):0.000 (5m):0.000 (15m):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s A:0 R:0 HW:0 WU:0.0/m Connected to somepool diff with stratum as user someuser Block: ... Any one have any thoughts? User and pool names have been changed.

Got my pair of U3's yesterday. They are driving me nuts. Closest I have come to getting one to run is using the old bitmain / antminer build of cgminer but it stops with error "unrecognized command --bmsc-voltage"
if I remove the voltage setting cgminer runs but all I get is incorrect device message. Tried latest cgminer build with every option I could think of on / off with voltage setting, without voltage setting etc. etc etc. If anyone actually gets a U3 working please post version of software and options. Thanks.

This is pathetic! I can't believe Bitmain would release a product with no solid instructions or mining software to support it.

Maybe if we all email bitmain asking for an Rpi image for the U3 that works they would post one (and for anyone not planning to use an Rpi we could always deconstruct it if we know the cg version used). I have tried everything I could think of using the settings designed for the new chip. I am now going through options settings for the old ones to see if any work (i.e. icarus options with amu setting etc.) So far no luck with anything.

The driver for the U3 is not in mainline yet, until it is you will have to use bitmains version. Maybe if we all email bitmain asking for an Rpi image for the U3 that works they would post one (and for anyone not planning to use an Rpi we could always deconstruct it if we know the cg version used). I have tried everything I could think of using the settings designed for the new chip. For the moment you would need to use Bitmain's Fork https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer the U3 driver should be integrated as of this commit https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer/commit/ecf7fd7a79b4018956d81fb709574595018c7d86 . The U3 is currently not in the icarus driver.

can anyone let me know how to mine with multiple u3 in the same cgminer
Please set like this ./cgminer --bmsc-options 115200:1 --bmsc-voltage 0755 --bmsc-freq 0782 The voltage is too low, should at least 0725(turn to Readme) For the issue about mining multiple U3 in the same cgminer, please connect the USB cable of each U3 into the same PC, or use the same USB hub, connected and run cgminer. Please noted that connection order must be - plug one side of 12V AC/DC power brick into U3, and plug the other side into AC input. Then, connect U3 and the computer via the USB line.
