I love it that everyone is so enthusiastic. I wonder though, whether everyone is keeping a close eye on developments. For example it looks as though the Arizona Cannabis Cup has been quietly deferred until November. See http://www.cannabiscultivatorscup.com/. I have no idea whether that has been announced anywhere, I didn't see it. If you are counting on the publicity from this event to boost the price of CANN in the short term then you need to be aware that the event countdown has changed from about 5 weeks to 7 months. It is likely that event facilitators figured April 25 was simply too soon after a marijuana event-saturated 4/20 weekend, which seems sensible. I just don't know. I do recommend, however, that people factor as much up to date information as possible into their investment planning. Have a nice day everyone and keep sharing those smiles Shit...this is a really huge damage for the coin...hope better Times will come soon, but after this i think we're going back down

Please excuse my laziness, but don't feel like reading the entire thread and perhaps this could help others. Can someone tell me simply, is OP's claim of "Backed by real Marijuana 1 CannabisCoin (CANN) = 1 Gram of "Canndy" Marijuana"" - is this claim legit? Have people traded coins for weed yet? If the price of 1 gram of weed is ten bucks, how come the price of this coin is so low?

no, good question, really tldr: yes the peg exists, but atm it is honored only at one provider in Arizona. i think devs plan on getting many more onboard, but havn't heard much in a while, also, presumably, we're eagerly awaiting the first crop, some of which to be donated/distributed to the despensaries. should have some news soon...

Huge surge in volume! 60 bitcoins, nearly as high as it was at the start of the climb 10 days ago. A fat 1.8 bitcoin buy order at 1600 sat.
I thought we were losing steam and sagging back down to 1000-1200 but I guess it's always hard to know.

Short answer is "Yes, it is genuine". Community member synapse_showsumctrl posted a picture of their transaction in December here. groggin is also quite correct in that the Herbal Wellness Center is the only publicized participating dispensary so far (I think that's in Phoenix, Arizona but I'm an Aussie and not familiar with the 'States). As a proof of concept I believe that has gone quite well. Wider participation will of course require a lot more donated CANNdy product and that means waiting on not merely a single grow cycle but an entire sequence of events: - Test grows to find suitable candidate strains for grow locations and desired features.
- Testing and selection of plants to propagate.
- Actually propagating and then distributing to participating growers.
- Growing the crops for donation - all CANNdy is donated by growers and/or the participating dispensary for the peg exchange.
- Then there's the drying/curing, testing, packing and distribution of the product.
It is this time-consuming sequence that has led to something of a hiatus in news and apparent activity which, in turn, keeps the CANN price down. How long this hiatus will last and how quickly things will move once it ends is a matter of conjecture.

If I were guessing (and I am ) I'd say last week was a successful test pump and now a pump group is buying up in earnest in the run up to 4/20. It will be a wild ride with likely a brutal dump from about 4/17 or 4/18.

Donation? Okay. Are the cultivators atm perhaps awaiting a fair price before the coin provides such a price independently of that peg? Sounds tricky.

I wouldn't think so since they are currently donating the product, not selling it for CannabisCoin. It is the dispensary that gets the CANN, not the grower. Whether that changes in the future remains to be seen. From the OP: " The Yes We CANN movement is about medical marijuana dispensaries and shop owners that participate in providing safe, affordable, and quality medicine utilizing CannabisCoin as payment. This movement is a way for dispensaries and shop owners to show their appreciation to their patients by donating some medication into the “CANNdy” inventory." So the pool of donated product is hoped to be larger than the amount specifically donated by participating growers. However, the OP specifically states: " CannabisCoin is the payment solution for Marijuana dispensaries, retailers and merchants." So yes, CannabisCoin is indeed intended to alleviate dispensaries' cash problem that comes from the banks' reasonable fear of Federal fund seizure of "drug money" (cannabis is still Federally illegal). General transactions other than donated CANNdy inventory however are NOT pegged at 1 CANN = 1 gram but take place at market exchange rates. People tend to get stuck on the 1:1 peg and think they can get 2,000 pounds of marijuana for a little over 900K CANN (about $4K at today's prices), which is never going to happen. To begin with State laws will limit how much people can buy/possess at any one time. I suspect that as CANNdy inventory grows more dispensaries will install wallets and handle CANN transactions and then, when Arizona goes full recreational, people will be able to buy 2 or 3 grams per day and the exchange rate of CANN will head towards parity pricing. Hopefully that will help to answer your question.

Anyone else been watching these triplets pushing around the buy and sell books? They climbed up with the surge (on both sell and buy sides) all the way to 1800. Then they were removed, the buy side vanished down to 1680 and then the triplets dropped to 1687 on the sell side. Now as I am typing this the sell triplet is being split to a buy at 1682 and sells at 1689 and 1690. Is that blatant market manipulation or just a well-funded bot chasing the price? EDIT: Wow the price is moving all over. Now the triplet is entirely on the buy side at 1700-1707. 87 bitcoins of volume! Is that higher than it's been the last 2 weeks?
