Thanks for the quick responses guys, my wallet has to stay open right? Or can it be closed and staking still?

You will have to keep your wallet open to be able to stake.

Don't forget to encrypt and backup your wallet.dat regularly (not needed but recommended).

we have someone in the arch slack that has made a RaspberryPI mod to host his arch wallet and stake so he needn't leave his computer running all the time and they freely shared their method in slack I won't call them out on here in case they don't want to be flooded with PMs but if they read this and respond then more power too them. just another small perk of having at least 8k arch to access slack theres always cool projects going on.

I would invest enough to get 8k but, I need to see more from the dev. And more interest from people before I do that.

ok well I'm not sure what more you want have you not read the news releases posted here? the company is registered, we have employees, we have VC lined up, we are building the prototype moby, 3d printing is up and running and many other things and as far as interest from other people goes price of Arch went from 12k to 55k once the news updates about the progress of the company came out. so I reiterate I'm confused by your comment as the Dev has been busting his ass and plenty of people are in Arch (about 187 in HQ alone, so that means 187 with at least 8k arch) not to mention however many people don't have 8k or keep their coins on an exchange and are therefore ineligible for HQ

BTCarchitect, you should think twice before posting this kind of tweets:

https://twitter.com/BTCarchitect/status/588482946656382976
https://twitter.com/BTCarchitect/status/588484295112597504

This is real not professionnal for someone who want to raise funds.
If you think that 99% of people in cryptos are little greedy shit, why you created Archcoin? Such attitudes can cool investors.

You have valid point but I have seen many good people lose all their savings to all forms of scams, hacks and manipulation in crypto that I can't turn my head to deceit. Me and this project called Arch are determined to be part of that 1%.

"The real innovation of ARCHcoin is bringing crypto currency together in our common expectations and not our differences."

New to ARCH... is there anyone who might be able to fill me in about the wallet? I just downloaded it from the ARCH site and I assume it will take some time to sync. But It says I have 0 active connections... Do I need to do anything else or is it going to take some time to sort itself up?

Thanks

I'm new as well and had the same issue, but there's an easy fix.  Follow the below directions and your wallet will begin syncing right away. Copy and paste the link.... if you click, it won't take you to the network tab.  You must add the nodes to your .conf and you should be good to go Smiley

If that doesn't work,

go to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/arch/#!network

click node list with protocol 70001

It has the latest online nodes.

Thanks. I had tried that. I've redone it. How long should it take to sync up?

Someone suggested these are what you needed?

addnode=supernode.archcoin.co
addnode=amsterdam.archcoin.co
addnode=singapore.archcoin.co
addnode=london.archcoin.co
addnode=atlanta.archcoin.co
addnode=sanjose.archcoin.co

Whats the difference?

Hmm, weird!  Did you make your own .conf or did the wallet do it for you?

Not trying to insult your intelligence, but did you save it as "all files" so it remains .conf, not .conf.txt?

No insult taken. I am just looking at this now. Text edit doesn't give me an option for all files. Gives me RTF or RTF with attachments and a few others. I can hide the extension or not, so it looks like archcoin.conf or archcoin.conf.rtf

If I remove the .rtf in the GetInfo window and add it where it should go it crashes when I try to open.
