Can't see anyway that 1 btc will be worth that much by 2015, it's probably going to take years before we even reach the start of mass adoption. I'd be happy if we reach $1000 by 2015.

That's quite right. I think it will reach 1500$ in 2015 and in 2017 the 10,000$.

how do you come about those numbers?
i've a personal thought that €300 is about right and stable, where we are now.

are you equating block halving to a price increase?

very unlikely, maybe another technology will take off before that will happen, but i hope they will improve bitcoin instead of making a better clone

But it's hard to make it better. But Bitcoin will never die because it's the origin and source which solves almost every economic problem... Huh

WTF difference does it make what people say in this thread? Does it help to ask a coin before you toss it?
Nobody knows what the price is going to do tomorrow, much less next year. I ask you to consider that if you are "investing" in bitcoin and think somebody out there has a formula or a way to know the future, you are in the wrong place. As an investment bitcoin is extremely risky asset. It was designed as a payment network and bitcoins utility is tied to that. If you want to try out bitcoin then buy some and spend it online. If you insist on fancying yourself an investor then put up only what you can afford to lose. It may go very quickly when it goes.

If we hit 1k by the end of 2015 BUT it's stable, that'd make me happy. I'd even take $700 stable. The key word here is stable. Until the coin has a steady price, adoption will continue to be slow as it's still not usable as a true currency.

Very true. In fact, if we only consider the bitcoin price in stable periods, the current ~$350 is much higher than the ~$100 before the previous rally.

I think a lot of people are caught in the "but it went from $60 to $1200+ in a short period last year so it's going to happen again!" phase.

So many people here say btc is gonna be like a million dollars but it's never going to be. People are losing confidence, everyone heavily invested may say on tv they hold but the course is down so they are selling but they dont want you to know

Who thought in 2010 that the price will rise to the 1000$/BTC ,when the actual price was around 10 cents ?

Do you think 1.00 BTC will worth more than $10,000.00 USD at any time in 2015?

No way!
If we get more people involved price should longer term go higher, but not that much that fast...
That would be 7-8 ounces of gold! And you need to move A LOT of rock to extract so much gold.
Any time 1 bitcoin goes again over value of ONE ounce of gold I'm selling bitcoin and buying gold or silver...

Looking at preev.com .. I doubt it will reach 10,000 USD this year. However, it should be able to get back to 1,000 USD this year. Somewhere around June? Or even better, March.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.
