For syncing, the bootstrap file has been updated. Instructions from the OP follow:

StealthCoin Syncing Made Easy

1. Back up your wallet
2. Stop the old client
3. Go to the application data directory
4. Remove blk0001.dat, blkindex.dat, database, db.log, and debug.log
5. Download the zipped bootstrap file from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8rWObF4xz1YRzd1VVNXM0JrWEE/view?usp=sharing
6. Unpack the bootstrap file into the application data directory
7. Start the new client
8. For the new client your computer will pause momentarily at 71% to fill the key pool (you may not notice)
9. The progress will pause at 91% for as much as one hour (up to 2 hours for old computers!) to validate the bootstrap file
10. The chain may take 5 to 10 minutes to sync

good update by Dev about sync issue for new user, my wallet already working fine,

Can someone link me to that funny ass XST promo video? The one that starts out with "We have hidden all XYZ stealthcoins in this video, can you see them?" and ends with a promo for the Chinese. I can't find it D:

At least I'm pretty sure it was XST :/

Edit* I think it got taken down.. anyone still have it?? Or know who made it?

It's gone.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone in the community thought to download it. The account that claimed to make it, probably no longer exists.

Apologies for the Alerts: Everything Is OK!

I thought it would be safe to test the alert system tonight, but it looks as if a bug exists in this system. You will probably see many, many annoying popups. I terribly regret each popup you have to close. However each of those popups represents my trying to track down this bug. I believe I have fixed it (an explanation for the curious is below). The fix will be available in the release candidate (last closed source release) which I should have ready in a couple of days. In the meantime, I'm going to put up an alert that explains the alerts. I don't know what else to do. Again my apologies.

I realize that it has been a long time with this new wallet. But, in polishing up the revised Qt, I felt like I would do something that I wish other developers did: fix things before they add new things that don't work 100%. I'm tracking every bug great and small that I can find in this wallet, and fixing each of them. Each bug I find can take from a few minutes to about a week to fix, so it has required some time. Fixing bugs is vastly more time consuming than one might expect. Hopefully the user experience will be much more satisfying than if I added simply many bells and whistles that were not fully debugged.

-- Hondo

Alert bug description for the curios

An alert can cancel any other alert but not itself or else it can't be broadcast. If it can't be broadcast, it can't cancel other alerts. This is a classic chicken-egg problem. I fixed it so the last alert remains active so that it can cancel other alerts, but the gui is not notified if an alert effectively "cancels" itself. I'm surprised this has not been fixed in the StealthCoin lineage, but I believe that is because few coin developers actually use the alert system.
