Factoids are coming soon. We have been releasing regular updates on progress and will continue to do so. The software is undergoing testing and we want to make sure it's stable enough before releasing. See above for the latest updates and also check our GitHub if you want to get involved with testing. The founding round is for Factom Inc. which is separate from the Factom Foundation. Factom Inc. has been setup to help businesses who want to integrate our tech and expand user base. It will be essential to drive demand for Factoids at the same time as more and more companies use Factom. Also the funding round is not taking time away from our development efforts. We appreciate the feedback, rest assured our developers and community testers are hard at work to deliver as soon as feasibly possible. Here is the link to the post about release candidate one. All the coding is done from end to end. The code is currently under a "freeze", meaning no new features, only bug fixes are being accepting between now and reaching milestone 1 / launch of the live beta. http://blog.factom.org/post/124249017699/technical-update-release-candidate-oneYou and anyone else tech savvy are welcome to join the testing community of folks installing and trying out the functions of the Factom client, participating in the stress test and otherwise finding ways to make the software more robust. Presuming no major bugs are discovered in RC2 the Beta will come shortly after that. That's about as close to a schedule as one can get. The goal is to have robust software that will work when the genesis block goes live at the launch of the Beta. Security is the top priority. Real value is at stake in this software and so the team is running a huge number of tests (currently more than 179 per day) in order to be confident Factom is stable and preforming as expected. I hope that sets the schedule in context. Its all open source / open development so you are welcome to track the progress on Factom's Github repos. |

Then you are stuck with a piece of paper proving your ownership of a piece of the company  This has always been part of the deal, investors should have done their homework. |

This is a great development for digital currencies. The ability for Factom to dissociate from digital currency will certainly bring a lot of new companies to the space!

I'm not a Factom Inc investor but I'm trying to understand what was offered.
Only if the company decides to distribute profits. only if there is a "secondary market" and i am not even sure if the company entertains changing their share ownership on that basis. Yes I am also trying to explain what I understand. btw investors buying into Factom Inc were acting buying it via a syndicate, so basically they had the syndicate (Bitcoin Fund in this case) holding the shares on their behalf. |
