From OP:
" Coins Source will, with the help of the community and those who have the best
interest of this market at heart, open up a voting process and reward this badge
as a sign of honor and respect. It will be with consideration to technology,
philosophy, and those aiding in the movement of the original Bitcoin philosophy.

PoH will stand through time just as the Nobel Prize did in its ideal situations.
It will be awarded to those who believed in an idea enough to make it successful
and in turn push this environment towards a more positive future."

Yeah, sounds great!...

Will there be any selection-process among the nominees before the actual voting?

I have a suggestion:
Let the voting be between people that has proven themselves.
Really proven themselves!
Im talking about that persons that has done 'AAaawesome' things should be dismissed unless they can back up their invention/coin/tech. Dosen´t have to be open source, just reliably proof that it is more then just a possible price-hype-Pn'D-tech...

This would rattle out doubtful nominees and make sure that the PoH really stand for something, and reduce the risk of a shill-account-winner.

Just my 2 flippin' cents..

Yeah I agree with this and this list is starting to get good, most people who come into these forums don't know who are the good developers in the community. Even being nominated is an honor, and I'm pretty confident of who will win the final vote based on merit of achievements and work within the community over the last few years.

Maybe if the votes you have to be atleast a jr member (or full member) and your vote is public and gets counted and then the public votes are weighted against the private votes (say 2-1 ratio) and that number is multiplied by a weighted trust score based on time, activity and trust score to get a final vote count. Wouldn't really have to be excessive but say a legendary account with a high trust score that makes a public vote might count for 5 extra votes where as an account with very negative trust score would end up with 0.5 votes or less.

Bitcointalk should have the option in the polls that you can set the minimum user rank to vote and a weighted trust number would be good too, maybe as vote statistics? I know other people have had problems with their voting with not clarifying the rules of the vote so people start accusing each other of cheating.

Vote for patmast3r.

www.iotatoken.com                      https://twitter.com/iotatoken
Iota is a brand new and novel micro-transaction cryptotoken optimized for the Internet-of-Things (IoT). Unlike the complex and heavy blockchains of Bitcoin and the like, which were designed with other uses in mind, Iota is created to be as lightweight as possible, hence the name "Iota" with emphasis on the ‘IoT’ part.

I nominate Cryptonit (Helmut Seidl) from DMD - Diamond dev team.  He is a stand up guy, he is always there promoting the coin and his efforts are reassuring.  There are others on the Dev team (Danbi & Popshot) that I can't say get enough credit, however, Cryptonit is our PR person and I think he is a good choice for nomination.
